Joy is one of the basic human feelings that express emotional, psychological, and spiritual state. Thus the biblical books and especially the Book of Psalms show various motifs of joy among numerous existential situations. Not only joy is the characteristic but its distinct reference to the relation with God as the One who is the source of joy even in the midst of worries and trials. It is exemplified by Psalm 126 which presents the motifs of joy included in the experience of sowing and harvesting. These motifs were raised accurately and meaningfully in the description of the situation of changing man’s lot from the state of sadness, caused by suffering, to joy and happiness of new life.

Niniejszy artykuł dowodzi, że Augustyn objaśniając w Enarrationes in Psalmos teksty Psalmów nie traktuje pojawiających się w nich odniesień do księżyca jedynie jako części opisów piękna stworzonego świata, ale stara się w nim dostrzec sens ukryty, którego ujawnienie służy wykładni różnych teologicznych zagadnień. Dla biskupa Hippony księżyc jest bowiem metaforą Boga Stwórcy, Chrystusa, Kościoła oraz człowieka. Maria Kelan tutkimusaiheena oli raamattusuomi, erityisesti Vanhan testamentin metaforiikka. Hän selvitti raamatunkäännösprosessissa tapahtuvaa metaforisaatiota ja valotti uskonnollisen ilmauksen syntyä kieleen. Kela vertaili metaforien käännösratkaisuja suomalaisissa Vanhan testamentin käännöksissä ja erityisesti Psalmien kirjassa. Tässä tutkielmassa tarkastellaan kahden substantiivin tapaustutkimuksen kautta yksittäisten sanojen merkityksen rakentumista tekstissä. Tutkimuskohteena on merkitykseltään tavalla tai toisella läheisten substantiivien sydän ja sielu merkitysten ja keskinäisen semanttisen suhteen representaatiot erilaisissa käyttökonteksteissa. Pääaineistoina toimivat Raamatun uusimman käännöksen Evankeliumi- ja Psalmitekstit, ja täydentävinä aineistoina kahdeksan nykykielenkäyttäjän suulliset haastattelut sekä viisi erilaista sanakirjaa. Tomasz August Olizarowski, born on March 10, 1811 in Wojsławice, in Galicia, still be- longs to the group of the unknown and unjustly forgotten poets and playwrights. One hundred and thirty five years have passed since his death, and so far there has been neither a critical edition of his rich literary output, nor a monograph devoted to him. Most of his texts remain in manuscripts collected at the Polish Library in Paris and at the Library of Kórnik.
