Kirja Huhut, unet, sodomiitit, moraalinvartijat, elämäkerrat,puhuttelusanat ja ammattinimikkeet koostuu teoreettisista artikkeleista ja tutkielmista, joiden käsittelemät aikakaudet ulottuvat keskiajalta aina itsenäisyyden murrosvaiheisiin. Teemaa lähestytään yksilön ja yhteiskunnan välisten suhteiden ilmentymänä. Artlkkelit edustavat kunkin kirjoittajan tutkimussuuntausta. Näin ollen kyseessä on teos, jossa esitetään myös uusimman historiantutkimuksen tuloksia. Kirjoittajat ovat historiantutkijoita ja Jyväskylän maakunta-arkiston henkilökuntaa.

TALPID3/KIAA0586 Regulates Multiple Aspects of Neuromuscular Patterning During Gastrointestinal Development in Animal Models and Human

TALPID3/KIAA0586 is an evolutionary conserved protein, which plays an essential role in protein trafficking. Its role during gastrointestinal (GI) and enteric nervous system (ENS) development has not been studied previously. Here, we analyzed chicken, mouse and human embryonic GI tissues with TALPID3 mutations. The GI tract of TALPID3 chicken embryos was shortened and malformed. Histologically, the gut smooth muscle was mispatterned and enteric neural crest cells were scattered throughout the gut wall. AbstractThis paper deals with the relative empirical length of signs in sign languages and provides evidence for the view that they are actually longer units than has hitherto been recognized. The evidence is presented from two perspectives: those of sign articulation and sign recognition. Concerning sign articulation, it is suggested that signs are longer units than is currently assumed because most of the structural features of signs are in fact already present before the currently accepted beginnings of signs and they continue after signs' generally accepted endings. Recent research has revealed enhanced autonomic and subjective responses to eye contact only when perceiving another live person. However, these enhanced responses to eye contact are abolished if the viewer believes that the other person is not able to look back at the viewer. We purported to investigate whether this “genuine” eye contact effect can be reproduced with pre‐recorded videos of stimulus persons.
