Tracing battery usage for second life market with a blockchain-based framework

2021

This work describes the design of a platform based on a permissioned blockchain for sharing relevant information among the actors involved in grid service provision programs. The information collected by a proprietary monitoring on-board system accessing the central unit of the Electric Vehicle, EV, is then sent to a dropbox folder owned by the car owner and then written on a blockchain platform. The platform could be supplied from similar data from the grid operator collected on the grid during the provision of services. In this way data can be validated and used for tracing the health status of the EV's battery. The design of customized smart contract allows to acquire the profiles of bat…

Differential efferent projections of the anterior, posteroventral, and posterodorsal subdivisions of the medial amygdala in mice

2012

The medial amygdaloid nucleus (Me) is a key structure in the control of sociosexual behaviour in mice. It receives direct projections from the main and accessory olfactory bulbs, as well as an important hormonal input. To better understand its behavioural role, in this work we investigate the structures receiving information from the Me, by analysing the efferent projections from its anterior (MeA), posterodorsal (MePD) and posteroventral (MePV) subdivisions, using anterograde neuronal tracing with biotinylated and tetrametylrhodamine-conjugated dextranamines. The Me is strongly interconnected with the rest of the chemosensory amygdala, but shows only moderate projections to the central nucl…

Amygdalo-hypothalamic projections in the lizardPodarcis hispanica: A combined anterograde and retrograde tracing study

1997

The cells of origin and terminal fields of the amygdalo-hypothalamic projections in the lizard Podarcis hispanica were determined by using the anterograde and retrograde transport of the tracers, biotinylated dextran amine and horseradish peroxidase. The resulting labeling indicated that there was a small projection to the preoptic hypothalamus, that arose from the vomeronasal amygdaloid nuclei (nucleus sphericus and nucleus of the accessory olfactory tract), and an important projection to the rest of the hypothalamus, that was formed by three components: medial, lateral, and ventral. The medial projection originated mainly in the dorsal amygdaloid division (posterior dorsal ventricular rid…

A Definitive Pharmacophore Modelling Study on CDK2 ATP Pocket Binders: Tracing the Path of New Virtual High-Throughput Screenings

2020

Cyclin Dependent Kinases-2 (CDK2) are members of serine/threonine protein kinases family. They play an important role in the regulation events of the eukaryotic cell division cycle, especially during the G1 to S phase transition. Experimental evidence indicate that excessive expression of CDK2s should cause abnormal cell cycle regulation. Therefore, since a long time, CDK2s have been considered potential therapeutic targets for cancer therapy. In this work, onehundred and forty-nine complexes of inhibitors bound in the CDK2-ATP pocket were submitted to short MD simulations (10ns) and free energy calculation. Comparison with experimental data (Ki, Kd</su…

Carbon autonomy of peach shoots determined by 13C-photoassimilate transport

2009

We used (13)CO(2) tracing and source-sink manipulation to determine if fruiting shoots of peach (Prunus persica (L.) Batsch) trees are autonomous or if they import carbon from neighboring shoots, and if the degree of shoot autonomy is influenced by the source-sink relationship of the shoot. In three experiments, leaf to fruit ratio (L:F) of selected fruiting shoots was moderately (2005 and 2006) or strongly (complete sink removal, 2006) altered to either enhance or inhibit movement of carbon from (13)C-labeled fruiting shoots (LFS) to adjacent non-labeled shoots (NLFS), both located within 10 cm on the same main scaffold of V-shaped peach trees. At Stages I and III of fruit growth, fruit an…

Predetermined embryonic glial cells form the distinct glial sheaths of the Drosophila peripheral nervous system

2013

International audience; One of the numerous functions of glial cells in Drosophila is the ensheathment of neurons to isolate them from the potassium-rich haemolymph, thereby establishing the blood-brain barrier. Peripheral nerves of flies are surrounded by three distinct glial cell types. Although all embryonic peripheral glia (ePG) have been identified on a single-cell level, their contribution to the three glial sheaths is not known. We used the Flybow system to label and identify each individual ePG in the living embryo and followed them into third instar larva. We demonstrate that all ePG persist until the end of larval development and some even to adulthood. We uncover the origin of al…

A Method of Three-Dimensional Visualization of Molecular Processes of Apoptosis

2014

Apoptosis or programmed cell death plays an important role in many physiological states and diseases. Detection of apoptotic cells, tracing the development of apoptosis, drug development and regulation of apoptosis are an important parts of basic research in medicine. A large number of models have been developed that are based on the differential equations of the chemical kinetics, and can be expressed in a uniform notation using some XML-based languages, such as SBML and CellML. We describe the CellML and the simulation environment OpenCell herein. These tools can display models schematically and output results in the form of graphs showing time dependencies of component concentrations. Ho…

Numerical implementation of active power flow tracing methods: Practical implications on transmission networks and DR programs support

2015

The goal of this paper is to demonstrate the powerful contribution of the electric active power flow tracing methods on studying the electric transmission systems operating conditions. The tracing methods allow to impute to every generation unit and/or load the responsibility of the power flows of all the elements connected to the network. This study propose the numerical implementation of two different tracing methods on two transmission networks through Matlab® scripts developed on purpose; then the analysis is focused on identifying the loads which mostly affect the power line flows of the system. The results of this analysis point out the loads on which the application of the Demand Res…

Dual Connectivity in Non-Stand Alone Deployment mode of 5G in Manhattan Environment

2020

| openaire: EC/H2020/815191/EU//PriMO-5G The main target of this paper is to analyze the performance of an outdoor user in a dense micro cellular Manhattan grid environment using a ray launching simulation tool. The radio propagation simulations are performed using a Shoot and Bouncing Ray (SBR) method. The network performance is analyzed at three different frequencies i.e. 1.8 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 28 GHz. Additionally, the benefits of combining LTE and potential 5G frequency bands by using feature of Dual Connectivity (DC) in an outdoor scenario has been highlighted. The considered performance metrics are received signal level, SINR, application throughput. The acquired simulation results fro…
