Pierres et carrières : réflexions autour de différentes stratégies d’approvisionnement sur les chantiers bourguignons médiévaux
2021
In this paper, we want to discuss the complexity of the mechanisms of medieval building stone supplying based on a diachronically and multidisciplinary inquiry on several Cistercian and ducal study cases. The first results enlighten the constraint caused by land property that limits the builders to a supplying network shaped by domain and law. Thanks to the growing vitality of trade and the arrival of independent stone providers, criteria of selection gradually focus on stone itself. Both global and individual strategies evolve then, reinventing the networks of stone providing and the markets.
Immobilization of single-stranded DNA fragments to solid surfaces and their repeatable specific hybridization : covalent binding or adsorption ?
2004
Abstract The different steps of the immobilization process of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) on surfaces by means of chemical grafting have been investigated using systematic measurements of grafting and hybridization densities by means of radioactive labelling. The immobilization by chemical grafting to a dense monomolecular layer of N-hydroxysuccinimidyl ester reactive functions attached to silica plates was performed from a dilute solution of amino-terminated oligonucleotides (10 μmol/l). The slow evaporation of the solvent allowed to increase the DNA grafting density by a factor of 10. A precise control of the rinsing process that followed the immobilization reaction allowed the discrimina…
Structure and determinants of production in Textile-Clothing-Leather-Skins (TCLS) craft industry in Benin: a study based on investigations of the val…
2014
Lieu et date de la conférence modifiées. Prétoria 31Juillet au 2 Août 2014 (Au lieu de Kigali -Rwanda); International audience; Sustainable economic growth in Benin requires a better understand of the informalsector, which contributes to two-thirds of GDP. Particularly, craft industry and TCLSsubsector is one of informal activity sector to be handled. The objectives of this work wereto identify the structure and factors that determine the production in TCLS craft industry. This study was based on a survey carried out in February 2011 on value creationdata in craft industry of TCLS in Benin. Lack of data induced by informal activities wascircumvented using an imputation method. A Multiple Cor…
USE OF PASSENGER LOCATION CARDS IN THE ERA OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, AND THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA OF AIR PASSENGERS
2021
Purpose: The aim of the article is to analyse the processing of personal data of air passengers during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in the context of doubts that have arisen in connection with the need for these passengers to provide their personal data as part of filling out the Passenger Location Card questionnaire. Method: The research method used in this study is case study. Findings: In the study, it was showed that firstly, the data of air passengers processed in relation to the application of the Passenger Location Card by the State Border Sanitary Inspectorate in Warsaw should be protected under the provisions of the General Regulation on the protection of personal data. Furthermore, the…
Possible Implications for Improved Osteogenesis? The Combination of Platelet-Rich Fibrin With Different Bone Substitute Materials
2021
Bone substitute materials (BSM) are widely used in oral regeneration, but sufficient angiogenesis is crucial for osteogenesis. The combination of BSM with autologous thrombocyte concentrations such as platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) may represent a clinical approach to overcome this limitation. This study analyzes the early influence on osteoblast (HOB) in vitro. Here, four different BSM (allogeneic, alloplastic, and two of xenogeneic origin) were combined with PRF. After the incubation with osteoblasts for 24 h, cell viability, migration, and proliferation were assessed. Next, marker of proliferation, migration, and differentiation were evaluated on gene and protein levels in comparison to the …
Microvascular density and tumor budding in oral squamous cell carcinoma
2022
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most prevalent malignant head and neck tumor, excluding the nonmelanoma skin cancer. Despite recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment, the disease's mortality rate is nonetheless high. The presence of isolated neoplastic cells or small clusters of up to four cells at the tumor?s invasive front, named tumor budding, is associated with a worse prognosis in OSCC. Angiogenesis has also been recognized as a determining factor in the progression of malignancies and in the development of metastases. Several studies have investigated the assessment of microvascular density (MVD) as a potential prognostic factor in OSCC. This study aimed to evaluate, …
Validation of a Portuguese version of the Groningen radiotherapy-induced xerostomia questionnaire
2022
The aim of this study was to validate and determine at pretest level the reliability of the Portuguese version of the Groningen radiotherapy-induced xerostomia questionnaire. This study employed 37 head and neck cancer patients. Each patient signed an informed consent and responded to the Portuguese version of the questionnaire in the form of an interview. This was repeated again after 2 weeks. A standard single question provided a validity check. Data were analyzed using Cronbach?s ? to test its reliability and total and interitem correlation, and intraclass correlation to determine its internal consistency and test-retest reliability. Construct validity supported by objective measurements…
Socio-demographic determinants and health related behaviors associated with sustainable food related choices : a quantitative, cross-sectional study …
2016
Masteroppgave folkehelsevitenskap - Universitetet i Agder 2016 Background and objectives: Creating a sustainable food system is considered a global challenge. Evidence suggests reductions of food waste and animal product consumption are among the most important consumer level changes in a food sustainability perspective. The present study aims to gain more knowledge on who is likely to make sustainable food related choices, focusing on household food waste and consumption of animal products. Methods: A selection of socio-demographic determinants and health related behaviors were included in the study. Data were obtained from a questionnaire survey from the study “Fruits and Vegetables Make …
The antioxidant behavior of functional nitroxide grafted polyethylene samples
2015
In this work, the thermo- and photo-oxidation stability of functional nitroxide grafted polyethylene (PE) samples was tested.
