Different factors drive students to pursue overseas study, such as better employment opportunities. Employability is used to describe the qualities needed for obtaining employment. It is an “active social process,” as one’s capitals and career identity transform with the labor market and job obtained. Using an open-ended questionnaire with five international graduates who pursued master’s level study a decade ago, this chapter investigates their enacted employability agency and related hindrances upon graduation. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli löytää ominaisuuksia, joita koulun tieto- ja viestintäteknisellä toimintaympäristöllä tulee olla. Näitä ominaisuuksia tarkasteltiin Savitaipaleen uuden peruskoulun ja lukion koulurakentamishankkeen yhteydessä opettajakunnan tarpeista lähtien. Tutkimuksen ote oli toimintatutkimuksen omainen, jossa tyypillisesti tutkijalla on aktiivinen rooli tutkimuksen kohteena olevassa hankkeessa. The article contributes to the genealogy of current tendencies in crisis governance by reconstructing Michel Foucault’s analysis of the application of the notion of crisis in 19th-century psychiatry. This analysis complements and corrects Reinhart Koselleck’s history that viewed crisis as originally a medical, judicial or theological concept that was transferred to the political domain in the 18th century. In contrast, Foucault highlights how the psychiatric application of the concept of crisis was itself political, conditioned by the disciplinary power of the psychiatrist.
