Fabrication-friendly polarization-sensitive plasmonic grating for optimal surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy

Plasmonic nanostructures are widely utilized in surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) from ultraviolet to near-infrared applications. Periodic nanoplasmonic systems such as plasmonic gratings are of great interest as SERS-active substrates due to their strong polarization dependence and ease of fabrication. In this work, we modelled a silver grating that manifests a subradiant plasmonic resonance as a dip in its reflectivity with significant near-field enhancement only for transverse-magnetic (TM) polarization of light. Poikkeavat polut muuttuvassa urheilussa : rationalisoituvan urheilun nykysosialisaatio nuorten tulkitsemana

Tutkimuksen kohteena ovat nykynuorten elämäkerralliset urheilupolut, joita tarkastelemme lajisosialisaation, pääomien ja toimijuuden ulottuvuuksin. Lajisosialisaation vahvistuminen ilmenee historiallisessa tarkastelussa kilpaurheilun rationalisoitumisen seurauksena. Nuorten erilaiset pääomat ja toimijuus mahdollistavat kuitenkin eriävien valintojen ja polkujen syntymisen nykyisen kilpaurheilun kontekstissakin. Tutkimuksessamme hahmottelemme neljä urheilupolkutyyppiä. Nuorten omiin tulkintoihin perustuva urheilupolkujen tutkiminen lisää ymmärrystämme urheiluun sosiaalistumisen muutoksista. peerReviewed

Who wants to become a business leader? We investigated whether young adults' work values (i.e., the importance placed on different job characteristics and rewards) predict their entrepreneurial aspirations (i.e., the intention to create a venture) and leadership aspirations (i.e., the intention to become a leader in a business context). Furthermore, we illuminated whether gender differences in work values contribute to the pervasive gender gap in these aspirations. This study extends our knowledge of leadership development, specifically Master's in Business Administration (MBA) programs, from a gender perspective. It presents a comprehensive case, women-only development program and conducts an empirical, longitudinal, qualitative study of the effect of one of the program modules, namely, the women-only MBA, on the women's career success. The empirical study focused on self-efficacy mechanisms for explaining the women's appraisals of their changes in abilities affecting their career success during the MBA program. Tutkielman tavoitteena on ollut selvittää millaisin perusteluin Hämeenlinnan seudulla lähdettiin toteuttamaan kuntauudistusta ja suurkuntaa vuosina 2005 – 2006. Hämeenlinnan seutukunnalla toteutettiin samanaikaisesti kahta uudistusta valtion vaatimaa ns. paras-hanketta ja seutukunnan itse itselleen ottamaa palvelujen uudistamista yli kuntarajojen ns. patu-hanke. Tutkielmassa kuntapalveluiden ja kuntarakenteen uudistuskeskustelua seurataan sanomalehtikirjoittelusta. Tutkielmassa tarkastelen urbaanista löytöretkeilystä käytyä keskustelua internetin suomalaisella keskustelupalstalla Q-Elements.comissa eli UE-foorumissa. Urbaani löytöretkeily eli UE tai urbex on viime vuosikymmenen aikana paljon huomiota osakseen saanut harrastus, jossa liikutaan erilaisissa ihmisen tekemissä tiloissa ja rakennuksissa. Oleellinen osa harrastusta on valokuvaus, ja kansainvälisesti harrastajia yhdistää myös eettinen pohdinta, jossa vedetään rajoja hyväksyttävälle toiminnalle.Vakiintuneen käsityksen mukaan paikoissa saa käydä, mutta mitään ei saa niissä muuttaa, rikkoa tai ottaa mukaan.
