The perceptual center (P-center) of a sound is typically understood as the specific moment at which it is perceived to occur. Using matched sets of real and artificial musical sounds as stimuli, we probed the influence of attack (rise time), duration, and frequency (center frequency) on perceived P-center location and P-center variability. Two different methods to determine the P-centers were used: Clicks aligned in-phase with the target sounds via the method of adjustment, and tapping in synchrony with the target sounds. In northern Finland, reindeer-herd management has experienced two major transitions: extensification of intensive herding, and development of supplementary/corral feeding in winter. The transitions were studied in six herding associations in different parts of the Finnish reindeer management area. It was suggested that intensive herding turns into more extensive forms as the reasons for intensive herding (predation, reindeer disappearing to foreign areas, protection of agricultural fields) gradually ceased to exist. This paper describes the first simulations and experimental results of a novel segmented Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR) reflector. Large portions of the rotating LiDAR data are typically discarded due to occlusion or a misplaced field of view (FOV). The proposed reflector solves this problem by reflecting the entire FOV of the rotating LiDAR towards a target. Optical simulation results, using Zemax OpticStudio, suggest that adding a reflector reduces the range of the embedded LiDAR with only 3 . 9 . Sprays are among the very main factors of mixture formation and combustion quality in almost every (IC) engine. They are of great importance in pollutant formation and energy efficiency although adequate modeling is still on development. For many applications, validation and calibration of models are still an open question. Therefore, we present an overview of existing models and propose some trends of improvement. Models are classified in zero dimensional and dimensional classes ranging from simple formulations aimed at close-to-real-time applications to complete detailed description of early atomization stages.
