Risk stratification for invasive fungal infections in patients with hematological malignancies: SEIFEM recommendations

2016

Invasive fungal infections (IFIs) are an important cause of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients. Patients with hematological malignancies undergoing conventional chemotherapy, autologous or allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation are considered at high risk, and Aspergillus spp. represents the most frequently isolated micro-organisms. In the last years, attention has also been focused on other rare molds (e.g., Zygomycetes, Fusarium spp.) responsible for devastating clinical manifestations. The extensive use of antifungal prophylaxis has reduced the infections from yeasts (e.g., candidemia) even though they are still associated with high mortality rates. This pa…

Electronic surveillance in the couple: The role of self-efficacy and commitment

2021

Abstract Researchers have shown a significant effect of using social networking sites (SNSs) on romantic relationships. Surveillance is one of the motives for social network use. Social networking surveillance is related to controlling a romantic partner's online behaviours. The purpose of the study was to search for antecedents of electronic surveillance (Study 1) and to examine their role in behaviours related to electronic surveillance among romantic couples (Study 2). Following the uses and gratification theory and technology acceptance model of using SNSs, antecedents of electronic surveillance in adult Facebook users were examined. In Study 1, the relationship between electronic surve…

Nature log-analytique du volume des sous-analytiques

2000

Using a preparation theorem for subanalytic functions and Lipschitz stratification for compact subanalytic sets we prove that volumes of slices of globally subanalytic sets and density have a log-analytic nature. We also prove that the set of parameters for which the volume of fiber is finite is globally subanalytic.

Wine and Its Legality-A Survey to Know the Consumer Opinions on the Activities of Sicilian Wine Companies Operating on Lands Confiscated from the Maf…

2014

The current guidelines of the European Union Common Agricultural Policy face the agricultural sector in the position of the backbone for the economic development of rural areas and regions with difficult economic differentiation. The EU Common Agricultural Policy defines agriculture as “multifunctional” and among the different roles and functions expected, there is also the “social function”, defined as the ability that the farm has to generate services with respect to a population with risk of social exclusion. This paper investigated all the agricultural initiatives with social impacts that were carried in the lands confiscated from the organized crime (called mafia), mainly in the South …

Laghi Artificiali dell'Italia meridionale e delle isole maggiori

2014

2014

This paper concerns the key aspects of the design of laminated glass structural elements subjected to axial forces of compression. An analysis of the Italian and European design-code frame is conducted with the analysis of experimental results reported in literature. The present study shown the existing of many problems in the implementation of these structural elements, such as a significant reduction of the theoretical value of compressive strength. Finally, we report the design process and the numerical analysis of laminated glass columns of a canopy prototype designed by the authors, starting by the definition of the loads and boundary conditions, the definition of the supporting struct…

Coperture in vetro stratificato: criteri di progettazione

2014

This paper concerns the design activity about laminated glass structures for the evaluation of criteria to optimize the design. This target is reached by using a preliminary study of the normative frame in national and international field. Forward by studying the bibliography on laminated glass structure. Application is on canopy designed by authors. Here are reported the step design procedures starting by definition of load, the restraints condition for structure element and a 3d model is produced by using a FEM method.

Il Sacro e il Tempo. Permanenze e trasformazioni nell'architettura

2015

Architecture scanned. Virtual model of a historical stratification

2010
