Normativity, moral realism, and unmasking explanations

Moral Projectivism must be able to specify under what conditions a certain inner response counts as a moral response. I argue, however, that moral projectivists cannot coherently do so because they must assume that there are moral properties in the world in order to fix the content of our moral judgements. To show this, I develop a number of arguments against moral dispositionalism, which is, nowadays, the most prom- ising version of moral projectivism. In this context, I call into question both David Lewis' dispositionalist account of colour and Chistine Korsgaard's procedural realism.

This article presents the hitherto undescribed relationship between humans and cows in Władysław Reymont's The Peasants. The tropes used by Reymont, especially the personifications of naturę in the Young Poland style, do not include the world of animals. However, the totality of Reymont's world lies in the blurring of distinctive boundaries between species and their subsequent restoration in an anthropocentric order. The assumptions of animal studiesand ecological realism used in the article allow Brzozowska to show the influence of cows on human behavior, especially that of women. The paper aims at presenting the theoretical pathway of one of Husserl's first students, Hedwig Conrad-Martius, and the influence she had first of all on Edith Stein, secondarily on Gerda Walther.
