Depending on the point of view adopted, we speak of the 'consumption', the 'use', or 'the reception' of literary works and their message The article discusses both the relevant concepts of literary com municatton and their empirical applications in Finland. The main focus is on studies that have shed light on the themes connected with the concept of intepretative community' Research findings concerning the temporal meaning shifts of literary works…

Siegenbeek’s inauguration as professor eloquentiae hollandicae extraordinarius, 1797 the 17th century Dutch writers P.C. Hooft and Joost van den Vondel are present in Dutch literary studies and literary historiography. The position of ConstantijnHuygens, whom the contemporary literary scholars also include in the Grote Vijf Great Five of the 17th-century Dutch literature besides Vondel, Hooft, Cats and Bredero, was gradually changing during the 19th century. Translation als Mythos

2020

Abstract This paper investigates the reception history of the Danish Poet and fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen in 19th-century Germany and its influence on his (auto)biographical depiction. Like many Scandinavian poets, Andersen discovered Germany’s literary potential and took advantage of it to further his career. In most cases, he was pictured as a genius who suffered systematic underestimation in Denmark. This narrative which determined his reception plays a central role in his German autobiography Märchen meines Lebens (Fairy Tale of my Life). Analyzing Andersen’s autobiographical discourse, I will reconstruct the process of the construction of Andersen’s (auto)biographical myth…

The aim of this article is to underline the importance of recover…

Nietzsche no Uruguai, 1890-1910

2014

This paper shows the reception and influence of Nietzsche in Uruguay during the years 1890 to 1910. For this purpose, the paper is divided into three parts. First of all, we present the different ways in which Nietzsche was introduced: how was Nietzsch…

Lucrezio e Carlo Magno. A proposito dell’epistola di Dungal sulle eclissi (MGH Epistolae IV Karolini aevi II, pp. 570-578)

2021

It is generally assumed that Lucretius’ De Rerum Natura disappeared with the end of antiquity and did not reappear until Poggio Bracciolini’s rediscovery (1417). Yet, the oldest and most valuable manuscripts of DRN were copied in the Carolingian age and reflect a high degree of attention to Lucretius’ text and its content. In the present paper, I argue that by studying more carefully the origin and diffusion of Lucretian manuscripts in Carolingian Europe, it is possible to detect an almost unrecognized connection between textual tradition, grammatical erudition, and literary imitatio. In the first section, I offer an overview of the reception of DRN in such representative ninth-century writ…

Benefit of hearing aid use in the elderly: the impact of age, cognition and hearing impairment

2018

Architectures for the reception in Lampedusa

2016

Joint LMMSE equalizer for HSDPA in full-rate space time transmit diversity schemes

2005

This contribution presents a joint linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) equalizer for full-rate space-time transmit diversity multi-code schemes based on W-CDMA, featuring two and four transmit antennas. Specifically, high-rate, high load systems are targeted, in order to analyze the high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) of 3GPP Release 6. We derive an equivalent transmission scheme to equalize the received sufficient statistic in a single stage. To reduce the effects of multipath and multiuser interference, and to provide spatial and frequency diversity at the receiver, an LMMSE equalizer is employed. Computer simulations confirm that the proposed schemes achieve robust performance…
