Determinants of Access to Academic Careers in France
2010
International audience; The recruitment of young PhD graduates in the academic sector is associated with great uncertainty regarding their potential teaching and research productivity. Thus, in order to recruit the best PhD graduates for permanent positions, employers (universities or research institutions in France) select according to signals sent by the applicants in their curriculum vitae: publications, post-doc position, host research institution.... A discrete-time model, controlling for post-doc participation, is used to a…
Le recrutement des jeunes docteurs dans le secteur privé
2007
This paper explores the relationship between the characteristics of the doctoral training and the recruitment of young PhDs in the private sector in France. In addition, we find that PhD students who expressed a preference for academia pay a wage penalty when they access…

The training is held by senior nurses, who define the specific tasks and duties of nurses. In a second step, starting from a qualitative and localized fieldwork, we will aim at understanding the recruitment and socialization of student nurses. Recruiting obviously begins with the nursing school entrance examination but co…

Impact of new teacher recruitment policies on development of educational systems in sub-Saharan Africa
2014
The development of Education systems in Sub-Saharan Africa as a whole and specially in Burkina Faso, Congo, Senegal shows ups and downs due to their low development, despite commitments made by the international community in 1990 at Jomtien in Thailand. The Dakar Forum in 2000, while recognizing progress recorded since independence for African countries, highlighted the need for States to undertake deep reforms with regard to education systems. Actually, since independence, the will shown by States to grant priority to education - as they are convinced that education has a positive impact on development of nations - was undermined by a number of uncertainties, including Structural Adjustment…
