Validating the early childhood classroom observation measure in first and third grade classrooms

The present study reports on the psychometric properties of the Early Childhood Classroom Observation Measure (ECCOM) in Finnish and Estonian first and third grade classrooms. The observation data were collected from 91 first grade teachers and 70 third grade teachers. Teachers' curriculum goals, teaching experience and the classroom size were measured also. The results of confirmatory factor analysis provided evidence of the three-factor model (management, climate, and instruction) for each dimension—child-centred, teacher-directed, and child-dominated—in both grades. Goodpasture disease is an autoimmune disorder mediated by circulating autoantibodies against the noncollagenous-1 (NC1) domain of the alpha 3 chain of type IV collagen (alpha 3(IV)NC1). The structure of Goodpasture epitope(s) has been previously mapped into two main binding regions (E-A and E-B) of the alpha 3(IV)NC1 domain using a residue mutation approach on the highly related alpha 1(IV)NC1 domain. An algorithm for the Rural Postman problem on a directed graph

The Directed Rural Postman Problem (DRPP) is a general case of the Chinese Postman Problem where a subset of the set of arcs of a given directed graph is ‘required’ to be traversed at minimum cost. If this subset does not form a weakly connected graph but forms a number of disconnected components the problem is NP-Complete, and is also a generalization of the asymmetric Travelling Salesman Problem. In motor-related brain regions, movement intention has been successfully decoded from in-vivo spike train by isolating a lower-dimension manifold that the high-dimensional spiking activity is constrained to. The mechanism enforcing this constraint remains unclear, although it has been hypothesized to be implemented by the connectivity of the sampled neurons. We test this idea and explore the interactions between local synaptic connectivity and its ability to encode information in a lower dimensional manifold through simulations of a detailed microcircuit model with realistic sources of noise. Detection, tracking and event localization of jet stream features in 4-D atmospheric data

We introduce a novel algorithm for the efficient detection and tracking of features in spatiotemporal atmospheric data, as well as for the precise localization of the occurring genesis, lysis, merging and splitting events. The algorithm works on data given on a four-dimensional structured grid. Feature selection and clustering are based on adjustable local and global criteria, feature tracking is predominantly based on spatial overlaps of the feature's full volumes.
