Quantum Real - Time Turing Machine
2001
The principles of quantum computation differ from the principles of classical computation very much. Quantum analogues to the basic constructions of the classical computation theory, such as Turing machine or finite 1-way and 2-ways automata, do not generalize deterministic ones. Their capabilities are incomparable. The aim of this paper is to introduce a quantum counterpart for real - time Turing machine. The recognition of a special kind of language, that can't be recognized by a deterministic real - time Turing machine, is shown.
Space-Efficient 1.5-Way Quantum Turing Machine
2001
1.5QTM is a sort of QTM (Quantum Turing Machine) where the head cannot move left (it can stay where it is and move right). For computations is used other - work tape. In this paper will be studied possibilities to economize work tape space more than the same deterministic Turing Machine can do (for some of the languages). As an example language (0i1i|i ≥ 0) is chosen, and is proved that this language could be recognized by deterministic Turing machine using log(i) cells on work tape , and 1.5QTM can recognize it using constant cells quantity.
Reprocessed polylactide: Studies of thermo-oxidative decomposition
2012
The combustion process of virgin and reprocessed polylactide (PLA) was simulated by multi-rate linear non-isothermal thermogravimetric experiments under O2. A complete methodology that accounted on the thermal stability and emission of gases was thoroughly developed. A new model, Thermal Decomposition Behavior, and novel parameters, the Zero-Decomposition Temperatures, were used to test the thermal stability of the materials under any linear heating rate. The release of gases was monitored by Evolved Gas Analysis with in-line FT-IR analysis. In addition, a kinetic analysis methodology that accounted for variable activation parameters showed that the decomposition process could be driven by …
Ceria-based electrolytes prepared by solution combustion synthesis: The role of fuel on the materials properties
2016
Ce0.8Sm0.2O2 â xpowders were synthesized by solution combustion synthesis using citric acid, cellulose and sucrose as single, or intimately mixed, fuels. The powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, N2sorption at â196 °C, H2-temperature programmed reduction and thermogravimetric analyses. Textural properties of the powders were shaped by the peculiar employed fuel. The study of reducibility revealed that oxygen vacancies formation is mainly influenced by both parameters, specific surface area and total pore volume. The different tendency toward reduction played a key role in sintering under reducing atmosphe…
Dimerization of visinin-like protein 1 is regulated by oxidative stress and calcium and is a pathological hallmark of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
2014
AbstractRedox control of proteins that form disulfide bonds upon oxidative challenge is an emerging topic in the physiological and pathophysiological regulation of protein function. We have investigated the role of the neuronal calcium sensor protein visinin-like protein 1 (VILIP-1) as a novel redox sensor in a cellular system. We have found oxidative stress to trigger dimerization of VILIP-1 within a cellular environment and identified thioredoxin reductase as responsible for facilitating the remonomerization of the dimeric protein. Dimerization is modulated by calcium and not dependent on the myristoylation of VILIP-1. Furthermore, we show by site-directed mutagenesis that dimerization is…
Thiosulfate Reduction in Salmonella enterica Is Driven by the Proton Motive Force
2012
ABSTRACT Thiosulfate respiration in Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium is catalyzed by the membrane-bound enzyme thiosulfate reductase. Experiments with quinone biosynthesis mutants show that menaquinol is the sole electron donor to thiosulfate reductase. However, the reduction of thiosulfate by menaquinol is highly endergonic under standard conditions (Δ E °′ = −328 mV). Thiosulfate reductase activity was found to depend on the proton motive force (PMF) across the cytoplasmic membrane. A structural model for thiosulfate reductase suggests that the PMF drives endergonic electron flow within the enzyme by a reverse loop mechanism. Thiosulfate reductase was able to catalyze the combined …
Il lavoro etero-organizzato prima e dopo il caso Foodora Italia.
2019
OR18-01 Effect of Teprotumumab on Proptosis Reduction Across Various Demographic Sub-Groups
2020
Abstract Introduction: Teprotumumab, an insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor inhibitory monoclonal antibody, was recently shown to significantly reduce proptosis in patients with active, moderate-to-severe thyroid eye disease (TED) in phase 2 and phase 3 clinical trials.1,2 Prior analyses have demonstrated a combined trial proptosis response (≥2 mm reduction) rate of 77.4% in the teprotumumab group and 14.9% in the placebo group after 24 weeks of therapy (p < 0.001).3 The current analysis was performed to investigate whether or not patient demographic characteristics influence the teprotumumab proptosis response. Methods: Data from two 24-week randomized, double-masked, placebo-cont…
Association of Thyroid Function Test Abnormalities and Thyroid Autoimmunity With Preterm Birth A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
2019
Preterm birth complicates 5% to 15% of births worldwide, and although it is the most important direct cause of morbidity and mortality in children younger than 5 years, no known risk factors can be identified in the majority of cases. However, overt hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism during pregnancy are well-known risk factors for preterm birth, and as such, the purpose of this study was to assess whether thyroid function test abnormalities and thyroid peroxidase (TPO) antibody positivity were associated with preterm birth. The study conducted a systematic review on the association of thyroid function or autoimmunity with preterm birth published from database inception to March 18, 2018, w…
Modeling of Resonance Phenomena in Self-Oscillating System of Agricultural Machines
2021
Factors affecting the interaction of the active cultivator paw with the soil environment are considered in this article. It was established that the active oscillating effect of tillage machines on the environment leads to reduction in its traction characteristics, and the design of symmetrical movable paw is capable of self-oscillation in a horizontal plane. It was developed the theoretical model of oscillatory movements that takes into account the main structural parameters of working bodies represented by symmetrical cultivator paws of the active type. For laboratory studies, a circular soil channel is used, which ensures the movement of the soil relative to the stationary working body f…
