Abstract Background Clustering is a key step in the analysis of gene expression data, and in fact, many classical clustering algorithms are used, or more innovative ones have been designed and validated for the task. Distance Functions, Clustering Algorithms and Microarray Data Analysis

Distance functions are a fundamental ingredient of classification and clustering procedures, and this holds true also in the particular case of microarray data. In the general data mining and classification literature, functions such as Euclidean distance or Pearson correlation have gained their status of de facto standards thanks to a considerable amount of experimental validation. Structural clustering of millions of molecular graphs

We propose an algorithm for clustering very large molecular graph databases according to scaffolds (i.e., large structural overlaps) that are common between cluster members. Our approach first partitions the original dataset into several smaller datasets using a greedy clustering approach named APreClus based on dynamic seed clustering. APreClus is an online and instance incremental clustering algorithm delaying the final cluster assignment of an instance until one of the so-called pending clusters the instance belongs to has reached significant size and is converted to a fixed cluster. Contemporary definitions of bullying are strikingly in agreement that bullying represents aggressive behaviour involving premeditation, time span, power imbalance and clear role assignment. We use this algebra-coalgebra duality as a common perspective for the study of equations and coequations. Evaluation of legendre functions of argument greater than one

Abstract In this paper we present an algorithm to evaluate Legendre functions of the first and second kinds ( P v , Q v ) for integraland half-integral order and argument greater than one. The code is based on the calculation of the continued fraction for the Q 's. the Wronskian relating P 's and Q 's and the application of forward recurrence relations for the P 's and backward recurrence for the Q 's. We also show an application of these algorithms to the evaluation of the electrostatic field due to a charged toroidal conductor at potential V .
