Hold-in, Pull-in and Lock-in Ranges for Phase-locked Loop with Tangential Characteristic of the Phase Detector

In the present paper the phase-locked loop (PLL), an electric circuit widely used in telecommunications and computer architectures is considered. A new modification of the PLL with tangential phase detector characteristic and active proportionally-integrating (PI) filter is introduced. Hold-in, pull-in and lock-in ranges for given circuit are studied rigorously. It is shown that lock-in range of the new PLL model is infinite, compared to the finite lock-in range of the classical PLL. peerReviewed

Molecular dynamics simulations of heavy ion induced defects in SiC Schottky diodes

In many industrial processes, such as printing paper, a material travels through a series of rollers unsupported and under longitudinal tension. The value of the tension has an important role in the system behaviour, such as fracture and me- chanical stability. This thesis develops stochastic models for a system in which an elastic, isotropic cracked material travels through a series of spans and studies the probabilities of fracture and instability of the material. The models focus on describing tension variations and initial cracks in the material. Underestimation of reliability is discussed from the viewpoint of deflation in estimates of reliability caused by artificial systematic technical or mechanical error in the estimates of correlation (MEC). Most traditional estimators of reliability embed product–moment correlation coefficient (PMC) in the form of item–score correlation (Rit) or principal component or factor loading (λi).
