Abstract The nature of evaluation and self-evaluation in simultaneous interpretation is based on the close connection between the main text (the version proposed by the speaker) and the interpreter's version. Between these two elements a number of variables emerge, that can damage the efficiency and the accuracy of simultaneous interpretation. The Database Species-Area Relationships in Palaearctic Grasslands (GIVD ID EU-00-003) is an initiative of the European Dry Grassland Group (EDGG) and primarily functions as repository for all data sampled during the EDGG Research Expeditions. During these expeditions two types of highly standardised sampling of dry grassland vegetation in the Palaearctic realm are carried out: (i) nested-plot sampling on squares of 0.0001, 0.001, 0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, and 100 m2; (ii) additional normal releves of 10-m2 plots. 1. The thermal sensitivity of early life stages can play a fundamental role in constraining species distributions. For egg-laying ectotherms, cool temperatures often extend development time and exacerbate developmental energy cost. Despite these costs, egg laying is still observed at high latitudes and altitudes. La sperimentazione esposta nella presente pubblicazione tratta dell’impiego di fibre di PET, ricavate dal semplice taglio di contenitori per bevande secondo un procedimento brevettato, nel rinforzo di calcestruzzi destinati anche a impieghi strutturali. Descrive le caratteristiche geometriche delle fibre e ne indaga la durabilità in condizioni severe che potrebbero presentarsi in un’applicazione pratica quale una pavimentazione esterna. A tal fine campioni costituiti da gruppi di fibre sono stati immersi per tredici giorni a 65°C in soluzioni a differente concentrazione di NaOH (0,103 M e 1,75 M).
