Crystalline forms of selected agrochemical actives : design and synthesis of cocrystals

The research described in this disseration covers the crystal form screening of two analogous agrochemical actives, thiophanate-methyl and thiophanate-ethyl, as well as the discovery of seven 4-hydroxybenzoic acid cocrystals of selected agrochemical actives. Polymorphs are crystal forms of a compound that have the same composition, but a different arrangement of molecules. Cocrystals are molecular crystals composed of two or more compounds, and refer mainly to crystals which contain compounds that are solids at standard conditions. A Review of Biosensors for Non-Invasive Diabetes Monitoring and Screening in Human Exhaled Breath

Exhaled breath acetone has been identified as a diabetes biomarker for non-invasive diagnosis. Its detection using biosensors features has many advantages over the conventional means. This paper reviews the recent literature on the detection of exhaled breath acetone and acetone vapor of diabetic interest. The biosensors have been classified based on their transduction methods. The performance characteristics of the biosensors have been explored for comparison. The future trends are also highlighted.

While several techniques for age determination of various materials, like radiocarbon dating, are established, these methods cannot be applied for metals, for which new techniques have to be developed. Dating archaeological strata in the Magna Mater temple using solid-state voltammetric analysis of leaded bronze coins

The proposed methodology was applied to samples coming from the Roman archaeological site of Magna Mater Temple (Rome, Italy) occurring in different strata dating back between the second half and the end of the 4(th) century A.D. and the 20(th) century. Zein as biodegradable material for effective delivery of alkaline phosphatase and substrates in biokits and biosensors

A biodegradable material, zein, is proposed as a reagent delivery platform for biokits and biosensors based on alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity/inhibition in the presence of phosphatase substrates. The immobilization and release of both the substrate and/or the active ALP, in a biodegradable and low-cost material such as zein, a prolamin from maize, and in combination with glycerol as plasticizer have been investigated. ABSTRACTThe performance of a laboratory-developed quantitative IgG/IgA flow cytometry-based immunoassay (FCI) using Jurkat T cells stably expressing full-length native S protein was compared against Elecsys® electrochemiluminiscent (ECLIA) Anti-SARS-CoV-2 S (Roche Diagnostics, Pleasanton, CA, USA), and LIAISON® SARS-CoV-2 TrimericS IgG chemiluminiscent assay (CLIA) (Diasorin S.p.a, Saluggia, IT) for detection and quantitation of SARS-CoV-2-specific antibodies.
