This paper is aimed to analyze, in a preliminar way, the ancient road system in a selected area of the Northern Sicily, between Segesta and Trapani. The focus are the connections between main roads (the so-called via Valeria and the hypothetical pathways) and settlements, the morphological context and the most significant toponyms from the archaeological point of view. The research is carried out by the archaeological data, contemporary and historical cartography, and it is also focused on the secondary roads.
Morphological determination of the phototrophic community composition of biological soil crusts in coastal sand dunes in northern Germany

This dataset comprises the microbial community composition of biological soil crusts in north-German sand dunes. For this we obtained enrichment cultures of phototrophic microorganisms, by placing fragments of biocrusts of the same Petri dishes as used for sequencing, in Petri dishes with Bold Basal (1N BBM) agarized medium (Bischoff and Bold 1963). Cultures were grown under standard laboratory conditions: with a 12-hour alteration of light and dark phases and irradiation of 25 μmol photons m-2 s-1 at a temperature 20 ± 5 ºС. A Novel Technique for Monitoring the W-Beam Guardrails

The paper addresses the problem of the measurement of guardrails’ deformations by means automatic analysis of optical images. The technique is founded on the analysis of high-resolution photos, obtained by means of 3D camera installed into a data vehicle. The novel methodology has been used to calculate the longitudinal safety barrier deformations for one W-beam guardrails installed along a rural road in Italy. The procedure has shown that digital image analysis can be used with the aim to monitoring guardrails and, therefore, for guarantee reasonable levels of protection against serious ran-off-road crashes.
Opening the black box of food quality in the short supply chain: Effects of conventions of quality on consumer choice

In recent years new forms of food distribution organisation, known as short supply chains, have gained ground. The local nature of such distribution has positive effects on the environment and on the local economy. Consumers appear to trust the short supply chain, and it has achieved considerable success. However, the short supply chain has credence characteristics which, by their very nature, cannot be identified through a system of certification. L’opération archéologique menée à Hermé, carrière Synéos (SPM) - tranche 6 des diagnostics archéologiques a permis de mettre au jour des occupations diachroniques néolithique et protohistorique.Ce diagnostic s’est déroulé sur deux parcelles distinctes pour une surface globale de 102 922 m2, une première au lieudit le Château Duduit et la seconde au lieudit La Patûre aux Bœufs.Sur l’emprise du Château Duduit nous avons mis au jour un petit amas de vingt-cinq pièces lithiques daté du Néolithique. Valutazione della OCM ortofrutta (REG. 2200/96: la Sicilia. Il regolamento (Reg. CE 2200/96) avrebbe dovuto incentivare l'orientamento al mercato delle produzioni ortofrutticole fresche, i suoi effetti sono stati diversificati nelle diverse regioni italiane. Il caso siciliano evidenzia particolari carenze funzionali e limitata efficacia della norma.

Tras la crisis de 2008 el estudio de la exclusión social resulta un objeto recurrente para las investigaciones rurales. Pero las aproximaciones habituales suelen emplear perspectivas de análisis macro (como la tasa AROPE), algo inadecuado cuando el medio rural se caracteriza por su heterogeneidad. Si no reconocemos esta, difícilmente se puede lograr la inclusión social de los individuos y/o familias excluidas en este. Luego resulta clave evidenciar las diferencias territoriales de los fenómenos de exclusión social a nivel micro.
