Polyanion–tobramycin nanocomplexes into functional microparticles for the treatment of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections in cystic fibrosis

Aim: Efficacy of antibiotics in cystic fibrosis (CF) is compromised by the poor penetration through mucus barrier. This work proposes a new ‘nano-into-micro’ approach, used to obtain a combinatorial effect: achieve a sustained delivery of tobramycin and overcome mucus barrier. Methods: Mannitol microparticles (MPs) were loaded with a tobramycin polymeric nanocomplex and characterized in presence of CF artificial mucus. Results & discussion: MPs are able to alter the rheological properties of CF artificial mucus, enhancing drug penetration into it and allowing a prolonged drug release. Wielka wojna północna oznaczała zmierzch starych potęg takich, jak Szwecja czy Rzeczypospolita i narodziny nowej - Rosji cara Piotra I. Przeprowadził on w państwie głębokie reformy oraz zmodernizował i unowocześnił siły zbrojne, tworząc bałtycką flotę wojenną. Zmiany te nie uszły uwadze ambasadorów obcych państw, w tym oczywiście Wielkiej Brytanii, którzy raportowali o nich do centrali. Sporządzali także zestawienia sił zbrojnych Rosji, w tym marynarki oraz umieszczali przy takiej okazji trafne spostrzeżenia dotyczące żołdu czy werbunku marynarzy. One of the most intense abiotic stresses encountered by arable weeds infesting agricultural fields is herbicide application. Non-target-site based resistance (NTSR), which belongs to the weed herbicide stress response pathways, is an adaptive response to herbicides. Stress response is driven by gene regulation. Do herbicide-associated "Safeners" play a role in the selection for non-target-site resistances ? To ensure or improve crop selectivity, some herbicide molecules are applied in association with a “safener”. Safeners are compounds that, at the rate applied, enhance herbicide-degrading metabolic pathways supposedly specifically in crop plants. The metabolic pathways enhanced by safeners in crop plants are highly similar to those exacerbated in taxonomically closely related weed species that evolved non-target-site based resistance (NTSR) to herbicides. Herein, we show an enhancing effect of herbicide safeners on NTSR in a major noxious grass weed: rye-grass (Lolium sp.).
