The present study investigated the effects of a novel 4-(N-dodecyl) pyridinium group-containing 1,4-dihydropyridine derivative (AP-12) on cognition and synaptic protein expression in the brain. Background and aims Based on the principles of scaffolding for motivation and on the assumptions of self-determination theory, two studies aimed to assess the role played by perceived parental autonomy-supportive scaffolding on child homework autonomous motivation, self-efficacy, affect, and engagement. Over a decade of in-vitro data support a critical role for members of the Homer family of postsynaptic scaffolding proteins in regulating the functional architecture of glutamate synapses. Earlier studies of Homer knockout mice indicated a necessary role for Homer gene products in normal mesocorticolimbic glutamate transmission and behaviours associated therewith. With Vygotsky’s (1987) doctrine of scientific concepts as a lens, it looks at how in the course of the peer response activity the teacher and the students support one another in their respective attempts to teach and learn writing. Abstract This chapter compares music listening with the infant’s experience of care. Several scholars have argued that music can be used for scaffolding one’s self-experience.
