Two studies are reported which investigate the relationship between sex-role orientation and memory for gender-related terms. Based on the concept of ‘cognitive schema’, theoretical models have recently been advanced suggesting that the schematic cognitive representation of gender facilitates the recall of words pertinent to gender. What do users associate with ‘interactivity’?

‘Interactivity’ was one of the major buzzwords of the 1990s. Although the academic discourse has produced a large number of different concepts of ‘interactivity’, in everyday life it still remains a label put on all kinds of aspects of online communication and digital media. Drawing on schema theory this article explores the concepts of ‘ordinary’ users (i.e. people who are not professional experts). The results indicate that users associate the foremost social and individual issues with the term ‘interactivity’, i.e. what they can accomplish by using media in terms of self-development, social influence and social relationships.

The language for the formulation of the interesting statements is, of course, most important. We use first order predicate logic. Our main achievement in this paper is an axiom system which we believe to be more powerful than any other natural general purpose discovery axiom system. We prove soundness of this axiom system in this paper. Additionally we prove that if we remove some of the requirements used in our axiom system, the system becomes not sound. This article reports on conceptual difficulties related to photosynthesis and respiratory metabolism of a Plant Physiology course for undergraduate students that could hinder their better learning of metabolic processes. A survey of results obtained in this area during the last 10 academic years was performed, as well as a specific test, aimed to find out prior conceptual schemes in the students. The test included only basic, general questions on plant metabolism, and was passed on the first day of the course. Scores obtained by different groups of students were compared. In this paper we try to systematize the information about the available corpora for emotion classification in text for languages other than English with the goal to find what approaches could be used for low-resource languages with close to no existing works in the field. We analyze the corresponding volume, emotion classification schema, language of each corresponding corpus and methods employed for data preparation and annotation automation. We propose a strategy for distribution of a relational data warehouse organized according to a star schema. We adapt fragmentation and allocation strategies that were developed for OO databases. We split the most-often-accessed dimension table into fragments by using primary horizontal fragmentation. The derived fragmentation then divides the fact table into fragments. Other dimension tables are not fragmented since they are presumed to be sufficiently small. Allocation of fragments encompasses duplication of non-fragmented dimension tables that we call a closure.
