A modelling framework for social media monitoring

This paper describes a hierarchical, three-level modelling framework for monitoring social media. Immediate social reality is modelled through the first level of the models. They represent various virtual communities at social media sites and adhere to the social world models of the sites, i.e., the "site ontologies". The second-level model is a temporal multirelational graph that captures the static and dynamic properties of the first-level models from the perspective of the monitoring site. Schemata, Acculturation, and Cognition : Expatriates in Japan's Software Industry

This multiple case based empirical study expands the knowledge around North American software and IT workers in Japan as well as the expatriate literature and discussion of cognitive schemata in cross cultural settings. The study includes eleven individuals, nine of them in software. Evidence of selection, rejection, and adjustment of cognitive schemata found in Japan's business world is presented. Changes in schemata drive cultural adjustment and acculturation. North American software and IT workers in Japan must maneuver through unfamiliar and often complex schemata to motivate, lead, manipulate, and communicate with coworkers and partners and thereby gain success.
Lexically specific vs. productive constructions in L2 Finnish

ABSTRACTIt is assumed from a usage-based perspective that learner language constructions emerge from natural language use in social interaction through exemplar learning. In L1, young learners have been shown to develop their constructions from lexically specific, formulaic expressions into more productive, abstract schemas. A similar developmental path has been shown for L2 development, with some exceptions. The aim of the current study is to explore to what extent the default assumption holds for L2 learning. Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt kādas saistības pastāv starp depresijas simptomu izteiktību, bērnībā pārciesto nelabvēlīgas pieredzi un agrīnajām neadaptīvām shēmām un noskaidrot, vai bērnības nelabvēlīgas pieredzes rādītāji paredz agrīno neadaptīvu shēmu radītājus un, savukārt, vai agrīno neadaptīvo shēmu rādītāji paredz depresijas simptomu izteiktību personām ar diagnosticētu depresiju un psihiski veselām personām. Pētījumā piedalījās 82 respondenti (visas sievietes), no kuriem 30 respondenti bija pacienti ar diagnosticēto depresiju un 52 psihiski veselas personas. Aktywność ucznia ma ogromne znaczenie w kształtowaniu i rozwijaniu abstrakcyjnych pojęć matematycznych. Jednak aktywność ta nie powinna ograniczać się jedynie do aktywności zewnętrznej, często jedynie pozornej, ale przede wszystkim powinna być to aktywność umysłowa ucznia. Zachowania i postawy specyficzne dla aktywności matematycznej można bowiem rozwijać u ucznia jedynie w toku jego aktywności poznawczej (intelektualnej). W opracowaniu podjęto próbę ukazania możliwości stymulowania i rozwijania oraz przejawy aktywności matematycznej uczniów w wieku wczesnoszkolnym w trakcie rozwiązywania zadań.
