Subkortikālo bezmugurkaulnieku un sēņu daudzveidība Šneidera mizmīļa Boros schneideri (Insecta, Boridae) apdzīvotos mikrobiotopos sausos priežu mežos

2016

2010

Organisaation liiketoiminnan tavoitteiden saavuttaminen vaatii nykypäivänä prosessien kehittämistä. Prosessien kehittämistä tutkitaan usein vain organisaation näkökulmasta. Onnistunut prosessien käyttöönotto vaatii kuitenkin myös työntekijöiden näkökulman huomioinnin. Riemenschneider, Hardgrave ja Davis kehittivät mallin prosessien hyväksynnän tutkimiseen käyttäjien näkökulmasta. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvittää voiko mallia hyödyntää yleisesti organisaatioissa prosessien muutosten hyväksynnän ja käyttöaikomuksen tutkimiseen. Lisäksi tavoitteena on selvittää mallia käyttämällä, miten käyttäjät kohdeyrityksessä kokevat Scrum-prosessin käytön …

Differentially Expressed tRNA-Derived Small RNAs Co-Sediment Primarily with Non-Polysomal Fractions in Drosophila

2017

Recent studies point to the existence of poorly characterized small regulatory RNAs generated from mRNAs, rRNAs and tRNAs. To explore the subcellular location of tRNA-derived small RNAs, 0–1 and 7–8 h Drosophila embryos were fractionated on sucrose density gradients. Analysis of 12,553,921 deep-sequencing reads from unfractionated and fractionated Drosophila embryos has revealed that tRFs, which are detected mainly from the 5’ends of tRNAs, co-sediment with the non-polysomal fractions. Interestingly, the expression levels of a subset of tRFs change temporally following thematernal-to-zygotic transition in embryos. We detected non-polysomal association of tRFs in S2 cells as well. Differenti…

Nimrod, a Putative Phagocytosis Receptor with EGF Repeats in Drosophila Plasmatocytes

2007

SummaryThe hemocytes, the blood cells of Drosophila, participate in the humoral and cellular immune defense reactions against microbes and parasites [1–8]. The plasmatocytes, one class of hemocytes, are phagocytically active and play an important role in immunity and development by removing microorganisms as well as apoptotic cells. On the surface of circulating and sessile plasmatocytes, we have now identified a protein, Nimrod C1 (NimC1), which is involved in the phagocytosis of bacteria. Suppression of NimC1 expression in plasmatocytes inhibited the phagocytosis of Staphylococcus aureus. Conversely, overexpression of NimC1 in S2 cells stimulated the phagocytosis of both S. aureus and Esc…

Expression of Drosophila Cabut during early embryogenesis, dorsal closure and nervous system development.

2010

cabut (cbt) encodes a transcription factor involved in Drosophila dorsal closure (DC), and it is expressed in embryonic epithelial sheets and yolk cell during this process upon activation of the Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) signaling pathway. Additional studies suggest that cbt may have a role in multiple developmental processes. To analyze Cbt localization through embryogenesis, we generated a Cbt specific antibody that has allowed detecting new Cbt expression patterns. Immunohistochemical analyses on syncytial embryos and S2 cells reveal that Cbt is localized on the surface of mitotic chromosomes at all mitotic phases. During DC, Cbt is expressed in the yolk cell, in epidermal cells and in…

Management Elements for Two Alburninae Species, Alburnus alburnus (Linnaeus, 1758) and Alburnoides bipunctatus (Bloch, 1782) Based on a Decision-Supp…

2019

Abstract ADONIS:CE has been used as a base to create a support-system management decision-making model for Alburnus alburnus (Linnaeus, 1758) and Alburnoides bipunctatus (Bloch, 1782) species. Investigation of the habitat necessities and the identification of the necessary elements for a good status of conservation of these two fish species populations has revealed the pressures and threats to these congener species, for which specific management activities have been finally recommended.

Transkendenttiluvuista

2015

Tämän pro gradu - tutkielman aiheena on transkendenttiluvut. Näiden kolmen lauseen avulla voidaan todistaa joitakin lukuja transkendenttisiksi. Yleisesti ottaen luvun transkendenttiseksi todistaminen on vaikeaa, eikä yleistä menetelmää tähän tunneta. Nämä kolme lausetta kuitenkin auttavat joissakin tapauksissa, kuten todistamaan e:n ja piin transkendenttisiksi. Tutkielma etenee m ääritelmien ja perusalgebran kautta p äätulosten esittelyyn ja transkendenttisyy…

Aizsargājamās saproksilofāgās vaboļu sugas (Insecta, Coleoptera) ietekmējošie ekoloģiskie faktori un šneidera mizmīļa (Boros schneideri) populācijas …

2016

Pirmā pētījuma daļa veikta Centrāllatvijā no 2015. gada 1. oktobra līdz 2016. gada 20. Aprīlim, kur nejauši izvēlējās deviņas mikrolieguma …

Divergent roles of the Drosophila melanogaster globins.

2018

In contrast to long-held assumptions, the gene repertoire of most insects includes hemoglobins. Analyses of the genome of the fruitfly Drosophila melanogaster identified three distinct hemoglobin genes (glob1, glob2, and glob3). While glob1 is predominantly associated with the tracheal system and fat body, glob2 and glob3 are almost exclusively expressed in the testis. The physiological role of globins in Drosophila is uncertain. Here, we studied the functions of the three globins in a cell culture system. Drosophila Schneider 2 (S2) cells were stably transfected with each of the three globins and the empty vector as control. Under hypoxia (1% atmospheric O2), only glob1 overexpression enha…
