Artykuł przedstawia osobę i działalność Aleksandra Kamińskiego w okresie drugiej wojny światowej. Podstawą opisu są wspomnienia jego córki i bliskich współpracowników. Doświadczenia w pracy harcerskiej przygotowały go wyzwań, które przyniosła drugiej wojna światowa. Kamiński był bardzo zaangażowany w budowę wojennych struktur harcerskich i działalność konspiracyjną. Ważną działalnością jego było redagowanie „Biuletynu Informacyjnego” Armii Krajowej oraz pisarstwo, które podkreślało realność walki z niemieckim okupantem. Wychowanie do dzielności, służba i pomoc innym były podstawą jego systemu wartości oraz wychowania

Evaluating the stability of pharmacophore features using molecular dynamics simulations.

Abstract Molecular dynamics simulations of twelve protein—ligand systems were used to derive a single, structure based pharmacophore model for each system. These merged models combine the information from the initial experimental structure and from all snapshots saved during the simulation. We compared the merged pharmacophore models with the corresponding PDB pharmacophore models, i.e., the static models generated from an experimental structure in the usual manner. The frequency of individual features, of feature types and the occurrence of features not present in the static model derived from the experimental structure were analyzed. Common Hits Approach: Combining Pharmacophore Modeling and Molecular Dynamics Simulations.

We present a new approach that incorporates flexibility based on extensive MD simulations of protein-ligand complexes into structure-based pharmacophore modeling and virtual screening. The approach uses the multiple coordinate sets saved during the MD simulations and generates for each frame a pharmacophore model. Pharmacophore models with the same pharmacophore features are pooled. In this way the high number of pharmacophore models that results from the MD simulation is reduced to only a few hundred representative pharmacophore models. Abstract We compared the performance of molecular dynamics (MD)-derived pharmacophore modeling approaches, Common Hit Approach (CHA), and the Molecular dYnamics SHAred PharmacophorE (MYSHAPE) approach, with semi-flexible constrained/unconstrained docking. The aim of this work is to enrich the hit-list of a virtual screening on CDK-2 known inhibitors as a case study. Cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) deregulation is associated with cancer growth. Pułkownik Zdzisław Filingier to postać wybitnie zasłużona dla pożarnictwa zarówno na Opolszczyźnie, jak i w całej Polsce. Pułkownik Filingier urodził się 2 stycznia 1922 roku w Warszawie. Jego rodzina mieszkała w Międzylesiu. Tam Zdzisław Filingier spędził dzieciństwo i wczesne lata młodzieńcze. W latach 1935–1939 uczęszczał do gimnazjum w Warszawie, gdzie należał do harcerstwa. W czasie pierwszych miesięcy okupacji skończył tajną podchorążówkę Armii Krajowej oraz brał udział w wielu akcjach sabotażowych. Abstract. This study has two objectives: (1) it characterizes contrails at very low temperatures and (2) it discusses convective cirrus in which the contrails occurred. (1) Long-lived contrails and cirrus from overshooting convection are investigated above the tropical tropopause at low temperatures down to −88 °C from measurements with the Russian high-altitude research aircraft M-55 Geophysica, as well as related observations during the SCOUT-O3 field experiment near Darwin, Australia, in 2005.
