Mouse Hsp70 (70 kDa heat shock protein) is preferentially induced by heat or stress stimuli. We previously found that Hsp70 is constitutively expressed in A6 mouse mesoangioblast stem cells, but its possible role in these cells and the control of its basal transcription remained unexplored. Here we report that in the absence of stress, Ku factor is able to bind the HSE (heat shock element) consensus sequence in vitro, and in vivo it is bound to the proximal hsp70 promoter. Here, we compared interpatient molecular heterogeneities of tumors and repertoires of drugs or their molecular targets currently in use in clinical oncology. Low-cost approximate reconstructing of heterogeneous microstructures

We propose an approximate reconstruction of random heterogeneous microstructures using the two-exponent power-law (TEPL). This rule originates from the entropic descriptor (ED) that is a multi-scale measure of spatial inhomogeneity for a given microstructure. A digitized target sample is a cube of linear size L in voxels. Then, a number of trial configurations can be generated by a model of overlapping spheres of a fixed radius, which are randomly distributed on a regular lattice. Interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) is a key cytokine of T lymphocytes with major regulatory functions in the immune system. To determine and compare protein/DNA interactions at the native IFN-gamma locus in T cells, we analyzed the human IFN-gamma promoter by ligation-mediated polymerase chain reaction (LM-PCR) techniques. Accordingly, Jurkat T cells and primary CD45RA and CD45R0 CD4+ T cell subsets isolated from peripheral blood using immunomagnetic beads were cultured and analyzed by LM-PCR. Two different transcripts are synthesized on the DNA of deletion mutant PII of bacteriophage f1 in E. coli cells infected with this miniphage. Both RNA species appear to be primary transcripts and differ by about 100 nucleotides at their 3'OH end. Mapping of these molecules on the miniphage genome suggests that a two-site terminator is active at the end of the I region of transcription of bacteriophage f1.

The cytoplasmic L-A dsRNA virus of Saccharomyces cerevisiae consists of a 4.5 kb dsRNA and the two gene products it encodes; the capsid (cap) and at least one copy of the capsid-polymerase (cap-pol) fusion protein. Virion cap-pol catalyses transcription of the plus (sense)-strand; this is extruded from the virus and serves as messenger for synthesis of cap and cap-pol. Nascent cap-pol binds to a specific domain in the plus strand to initiate encapsidation and then catalyses minus-strand synthesis to complete the replication cycle.
