COMPOSITE SYNERGY OF SERVICES - A NEW CONCEPT CONCERNING SERVICES

The current paper addresses the dynamics of the service sector in Romania, from the perspective of a new concept, namely the "composite synergy of services". The main points of the paper approach the fact that direct and indirect investments in the service sector create a synergic and composite effect on the development of the economy, as a whole, in Romania. The paper aims to be a prequel to a mathematical and economic demonstration of the existence of the composite synergy of services, laying the theoretical foundations of the concept and underlining the premises for its existence.

At the same time as the ‘emerging donors’ have gained relevance in the development cooperation system, they have also challenged established principles of aid. This article compares Brazil's and Finland's development cooperation practices in the light of recent global tendencies in the aid architecture. Based on empirical research carried out in Mozambique, Brazil, and Finland, the article gives a detailed review of the institutional and historical settings of each bilateral cooperation. The new face of university–business cooperation in Finland

This paper analyses the development of university-business cooperation (UBC) in Finland in the context of the University Reform Act of 2009, drawing on the experience of four universities: Aalto University, University of Jyvaskyla, University of Turku, and Lappeenranta University of Technology. Six UBC dimensions are examined: institutional context, stakeholders, motivations, facilitators/inhibitors, benefits, and drawbacks. We find that UBC, while a relatively recent process, is growing fast in dynamic local innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems. De-naturalizing the “predatory”: A study of “bogus” publications at public sector universities in Pakistan

Predatory publishing has recently emerged as a menace in academia. University professors and researchers often exploit this practice for their economic gains and institutional prestige. The present study investigates such existing predatory publishing practices in Pakistani public sector universities using Bourdieu’s (1991) concept of symbolic violence. For this purpose, we analyzed 495 articles published by 50 university professors in the social sciences and humanities over the period 2017-2021. Análisis sectorial de la exposición al riesgo de interés de las empresas españolas

Este trabajo analiza la exposición al riesgo de interés de las empresas españolas a nivel sectorial durante el período 1993-2001 utilizando una técnica de regresión móvil que permite identificar posibles variaciones en el tiempo en la sensibilidad de los sectores bursátiles ante los cambios de los tipos de interés. Los resultados obtenidos muestran un significativo grado de exposición para los sectores bancario, eléctrico y de construcción. Asimismo, su sensibilidad ante los tipos de interés no se mantiene estable en el tiempo, cobrando una especial intensidad en el escenario de tipos de interés históricamente bajos vigente desde finales de los años noventa. rferrer@uv.es; ecglez@uv.es
