Dog sperm head morphometry: its diversity and evolution

Dogs have been under strong artificial selection as a consequence of their relationship with man. Differences between breeds are evident that could be reflected in seminal characteristics. The present study was to evaluate differences in sperm head morphometry between seven well-defined breeds of dog: the British Bulldog, Chihuahua, German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever, Spanish Mastiff, Staffordshire Terrier, and Valencian Rat Hunting dog. Semen samples were obtained by masturbation and smears stained with Diff-Quik. Morphometric analysis (CASA-Morph) produced four size and four shape parameters. Elektronenmikroskopische Untersuchung eines Neurofibroms von einem 72 jahrigen Mann mit Morbus Recklinghausen. Der Tumor besteht aus verzweigten Schwannschen Zellen, die in ein kollagenfasriges Zwischengewebe eingelagert sind. Die Schwannschen Zellen sind von einer Basalmembran und einen Reticulinfasernetz umgeben. Wahrscheinlich sind die Schwannschen Zellen eines Neurofibroms befahigt fibrillare Zwischensubstanz zu bilden.
Oblique collision and evolution of large-scale transcurrent shear zones in the Kaoko belt, NW Namibia

Abstract Early structures in the central part of the Kaoko orogenic belt of NW Namibia suggest that the initial stage of collision was governed by underthrusting of the medium-grade Central Kaoko zone below the high-grade Western Kaoko zone, resulting in the development of an inverted metamorphic gradient. In the Western zone, early structures were overprinted by a second phase of deformation, which is associated with localization of the transcurrent Puros shear zone along the contact between the Western and Central zones. Le but du travail est de caracteriser l'evolution de l'arome du champagne au cours du vieillissement et de comparer sous ce rapport le vieillissement accelere a 40 °C au vieillissement normal. Les methodes mises en oeuvre a cet effet sont l'analyse sensorielle, et les techniques GC-O et GC-MS. La representativite des extraits a ete etudiee au prealable par tests triangulaires et tests de similarite.
