This paper deals with the properties of interrogative sentences with a split constituent (or split interrogatives) in Catalan and Spanish. We compare split interrogatives with Wh-questions, yes/no questions, different kinds of confirmatory questions and clitic left dislocation constructions. Split interrogatives show a very clear-cut syntactic and phonological distinction between those constituents to be interpreted as shared or old information (theme) and the constituent which receives the focus of the sentence. La denominación de género sentencioso convoca materiales de muy distinta índole: cuentos, fábulas, proverbios, sentencias y refranes que se caracterizan por una vocación sapiencial y didáctica común. Estos términos, si bien albergan realidades textuales distintas, a menudo fueron considerados como voces sinónimas por los autores medievales. El análisis minucioso de las colecciones dedicadas a dos de estos subgéneros, sentencias y refranes, y de las diferentes formas que en ellas aparecen, propicia una reflexión taxonómica cuya meta es una aproximación más exacta a sus afinidades y diferencias, a sus naturalezas intrínsecas y a sus propiedades.

Oprócz leksyki języka fachowego, składnia jest jednym z czynników najbardziej odróżniających go od tekstów tzw. języka ogólnego. Duże nasycenie terminologią, użycie wyrażeń nominalnych i inne charakterystyczne dla języka fachowego cechy sprawiają, że jest odbierany jako bardziej konkretny, precyzyjny i ekonomiczny. W rozdziale podjęto próbę kompaktowej prezentacji specyfiki składni niemieckojęzycznych tekstów fachowych i najważniejszych tendencji w niej obserwowanych. Omówione zostały najczęściej używane typy zdań, konstrukcje bezosobowe, grupy nominalne, frazy przyimkowe, konstrukcje bezokolicznikowe, strona bierna, werbalne frazy zdaniowe i konstrukcje imiesłowowe.
