"Wymuszona mobilność - wymuszona osiadłość". O powojennych przesiedleniach i ich obecnych skutkach dla lokalnych społeczności

2016

We współczesnym dyskursie publicznym dotyczącym II wojny światowej rzadko wspomina się o masowych powojennych ruchach ludności w Europie, o przesiedleniach Polaków z Kresów Wschodnich II Rzeczypospolitej, wysiedleniach Niemców i przesiedleniach ludności ukraińskiej. Procesy „wymuszonej mobilności, jak i wymuszonej osiadłości”, stanowiące codzienność tamtych lat zaowocowały upadkiem wielu lokalnych mikroświatów, powstaniem nowych ojczyzn, nowych społeczności i nowych tożsamości. Konfrontacja odmiennych kulturowo światów „gospodarzy” i „gości”, międzygrupowe konflikty, aspiracje do „lepszego życia”, stały się między innymi źródłem „nowych mobilności”, które nadal trwają. Artykuł będzie zatem …

Profiles of early career insecurity and its outcomes in adolescence : A four‐wave longitudinal study

2023

This study investigated the developmental profiles of perceived early career insecurity (ECI) and their outcomes among adolescents (n = 1416) during a critical educational transition from basic education to upper secondary education. We found three distinct latent profiles with varying amounts of ECI: Profile 1: Moderate and decreasing ECI before the transition (57%); Profile 2: Low-decreasing ECI before the transition but increasing ECI after the transition (31%); and Profile 3: High and stable ECI during the transition (12%). Moreover, the ECI profiles related to school and life satisfaction as well as to school stress and dropout intentions in a meaningful way consistent with the stresso…

Counting Berg partitions via Sturmian words and substitution tilings

2013

We develop the connection of Berg partitions with special substitution tilings of two tiles. We obtain a new proof that the number of Berg partitions with a fixed connectivity matrix is equal to half of the sum of its entries, [12]. This approach together with the formula of Seebold [10], for the number of substitutions preserving a given Sturmian sequence, shows that all of the combinatorial substitutions can be realized geometrically as Berg partitions. We treat Sturmian tilings as intersection tilings of bi-partitions. Using the symmetries of bi-partitions we obtain geometrically the palindromic properties of Sturmian sequences (Theorem 3) established combinatorially by de Luca and Migno…

Repetitive sequence distribution on Saguinus, Leontocebus and Leontopithecus tamarins (Platyrrhine, Primates) by mapping telomeric (TTAGGG) motifs an…

2021

Simple Summary Telomeric and rDNA sequence distribution on tamarins (New world monkeys, Primates) was analysed through molecular cytogenetics by fluorescence in situ hybridization. The mapping of Telomeric and rDNA probes on chromosomes was performed in order to clarify their localization and role in genome evolution. We found rDNA loci on the same homologs 19–22 on the analysed species with a different position in one of them named Leontopithecus rosalia, presumably as result of inversions. Other rDNA signals could be present on chromosome 16 and 17. On the last species, we found the classic telomeric sequence with exceptions while on the other species analysed, we found very amplified tel…

Distinctive attributes for predicted secondary structures at terminal sequences of non-classically secreted proteins from proteobacteria

2008

Abstract C- and N-terminal sequences (64 amino acid residues each) of 89 non-classically secreted type I, type III and type IV proteins (Swiss-Prot/TrEMBL) from proteobacteria were transformed into predicted secondary structures. Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) confirmed the significance of location (C- or N-termini) and secretion type as essential factors in respect of quantitative representations of structured (a-helices, b-strands) and unstructured (coils) elements. The profiles of secondary structures were transcripted using unequal property values for helices, strands and coils and corresponding numerical vectors (independent variables) were subjected to multiple discriminan…

Do childhood infections affect labour market outcomes in adulthood and, if so, how?

2020

A burgeoning body of literature suggests that poor childhood health leads to adverse health outcomes. lower educational attainment and weaker labour market outcomes in adulthood. We focus on an important but under-researched topic, which is the role played by infection-related hospitalization (IRH) in childhood and its links to labour market outcomes later in life. The participants aged 24-30 years in 2001 N =1706 were drawn from the Young Finns Study, which includes comprehensive registry data on IRHs in childhood at ages 0-18 years. These data are linked to longitudinal registry information on labour market outcomes (2001-2012) and parental background (1980). The estimations were performe…

The role of the agreement as a tool for management of property relations in cases of cross border marriages and civil unions/partnerships registered …

2021

The essay examines the role of the agreement as a tool for managing property relationships in crossborder marriages and registered partnerships, in light of EU Regulations 1103 and 1104 of 2016, on the property regimes of international married or registered couples. The main prerogative of such acts is the recognition of the parties? freedom to choose the court and the applicable law. The law governing the matrimonial property regimes, or the property consequences of registered partnerships, has universal scope. This agreement in the form envisaged, which is backed by the need for legal certainty and predictability of the applicable rules, means that the spouses, in family problems which ha…
