Modelling mode choice for freight transport using advanced choice experiments

Abstract In this paper we use advanced choice modelling techniques to analyse demand for freight transport in a context of modal choice. To this end, a stated preference (SP) survey was conducted in order to estimate freight shipper preferences for the main attributes that define the service offered by the different transport modes. From a methodological point of view, we focus on two critical issues in the construction of efficient choice experiments. Air conditioning and heat-related mortality: a multi-country longitudinal study

Background: Air conditioning has been proposed as one of the key factors explaining reductions of heat-related mortality risks observed in the last decades. However, direct evidence is still limited. Methods: We used a multi-country, multi-city, longitudinal design to quantify the independent role of air conditioning in reported attenuation in risk. We collected daily time series of mortality, mean temperature, and yearly air conditioning prevalence for 311 locations in Canada, Japan, Spain, and the USA between 1972 and 2009. Sistēma sastāv no 2 daļām: lietotāju puse, ar kuru mijiedarbojas lietotājs, un servera puse, kura veic datu apstrādi. Šīs darbs apraksta servera pusi, tā darbības algoritmus, izmantotās tehnoloģijas, struktūru un sniedz kopējo informāciju par izstrādes procesu.
