Joint localization and communication systems have drawn significant attention due to their high resource utilization. In this paper, we consider a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-aided simultaneously localization and communication system. We first determine the sum squared position error bound (SPEB) as the localization accuracy metric for the presented localization-communication system. Then, a joint RIS discrete phase shifts design and subcarrier assignment problem is formulated to minimize the SPEB while guaranteeing each user’s achievable data rate requirement. Mourning Missing Migrants: Ambiguous Loss and the Grief of Strangers

While the term missing refers to various instances and practices, we focus on the bodies of deceased migrants that remain unidentified, and on the inability of families to mourn someone when there is no body to grieve for. We deploy some ethnographic fragments of how Italian communities sometimes mourn those who are buried without a name and we describe the many problems of mourning someone whose fate is unknown through a discussion of the notion of ‘ambiguous loss’. Our contribution articulates some of the politics around deaths in migration by considering how missing migrants and their bodies are mourned in multiplicity. peerReviewed

Multi-hop device-to-device (D2D) communications play an important role in expanding D2D coverage. In this paper, we study a relay-based and network-coding-assisted (in particular, XOR coding) multi-hop D2D communication system. The text examines the relocation of ceded Vyborg’s administrative, social and cultural institutions in the rest of Finland. The heritage of the city was fragmented over a large area because the remaining part of Karelia did not have a city large enough to accommodate the Vyborgian facilities. Tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin viikon mittaisen päiväkirjatutkimuksen avulla positiivisten ja negatiivisten tunteiden siirtymistä edellisestä päivästä seuraavaan päivään vanhempien ja lasten välillä sekä vanhemman psyykkistä hyvinvointia ja lapsen temperamenttipiirteitä tunteiden siirtoon vaikuttavina tekijöinä. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin tunteiden siirtymisen sukupuolieroja sekä minkälaista viikkotrendiä perheenjäsenten positiiviset ja negatiiviset tunteet viikon aikana noudattivat.
