Straightforward access to water-soluble unsymmetrical sulfoxanthene dyes: application to the preparation of far-red fluorescent dyes with large stoke…
2014
An efficient synthesis of water-soluble unsymmetrical sulforhodamine/sulforhodol fluorophores containing a single julolidine fragment is presented. Owing to their valuable spectral properties in aqueous buffers, these dyes, especially those bearing a free aniline or phenol moiety, are valuable components of fluorogenic probes for a variety of biosensing applications. A further extension of this synthetic methodology to unusual phenols, namely 7-N,N-dialkylamino-4-hydroxy coumarins has enabled us to provide a new family water-soluble dyes of large Stokes’ shift with far-red spectral features.
Propagation d'informations le long d'une ligne de transmission non linéaire structurée en super réseau et simulant un neurone myélinisé
2019
Non-linear systems are almostly described by partial differential equations that characterize them. We have some systems such as the chain of coupled pebdelums, the protein chain comprising molecules with hydrogen bonds, atomic lattice, and so on .These systems are most often characterized by anharmonic inter particulate interactions and and then immersed in deformable potential substrates. In addition to nonlinearity and dispersion, these other phenomena namely anharmonicity and deformability are responsible for certain properties of propagation of solitary waves such as (compactons, kinks and anti-kinks, peackons, ...etc) and also the ability of the systems to transmit a signal . We used …
A Study on Patch-Based Progressive Coding Schemes of Semi-Regular 3D Meshes for Local Wavelet Compression and View-Dependent Transmission
2010
International audience; This paper firstly introduces a wavelet-based segmentation for three-dimensional (3D) Semi-Regular (SR) meshes, as a pre-processing step, in a region-independent progressive coding algorithm. The proposed segmentation process aims at producing homogeneous regions with respect to their frequency amplitudes on the mesh surface, in other words: patches with different degrees of roughness. We have then studied the behavior of the wavelets, obtained during the independent coding of each region, especially close to the patch boundaries. The main contribution of this paper consists in considering three different possible wavelet decompositions, close to the region borders, …
Development of new techniques for super-resolution video sequences : Towards a real-time implementation on Smart Camera
2020
These thesis works are part of an european project aiming to design a very hight resolution (8k) video camera. Within this project our team had the task of working on two technological aspects: (1) the design of a demonstrator carrying out a realtime deconvolution of a video stream coming from a very high resolution camera created by the consortium , (2) the design of a prototype allowing to increase the resolution and the level of detail of video streams from an input resolution of 4k to 8k using Super Resolution (SR) methods. This manuscript mainly presents the work related to the creation of the prototype realizing a Super Resolution method. In order to be able to assess the qualitative …
Multi-rogue solutions to the focusing NLS equation
2010
The study of rogue waves is a booming topic mainly in oceanography but also in other fields. In this thesis I construct via Darboux transform a multi-parametric family of smooth quasi-rational solutions of the nonlinear Schödinger equation that present a behavior of rogue waves. For a general choice of parameters the second-order solutions give a model of "three sisters" (three higher than expected waves in a row) while for a particular choice of parameters we obtain the solutions given by Akhmediev et al. in a serie of articles in 2009. Then these solutions allow me to construct rational solutions of the KP-I equation that describe waves in shallow water.
Local monomialization of generalized real analytic functions
2011
Generalized power series extend the notion of formal power series by considering exponents ofeach variable ranging in a well ordered set of positive real numbers. Generalized analytic functionsare defined locally by the sum of convergent generalized power series with real coe cients. Weprove a local monomialization result for these functions: they can be transformed into a monomialvia a locally finite collection of finite sequences of local blowingsup. For a convenient frameworkwhere this result can be established, we introduce the notion of generalized analytic manifoldand the correct definition of blowing-up in this category.
Statistical consequences of the Devroye inequality for processes. Applications to a class of non-uniformly hyperbolic dynamical systems
2005
In this paper, we apply Devroye inequality to study various statistical estimators and fluctuations of observables for processes. Most of these observables are suggested by dynamical systems. These applications concern the co-variance function, the integrated periodogram, the correlation dimension, the kernel density estimator, the speed of convergence of empirical measure, the shadowing property and the almost-sure central limit theorem. We proved in \cite{CCS} that Devroye inequality holds for a class of non-uniformly hyperbolic dynamical systems introduced in \cite{young}. In the second appendix we prove that, if the decay of correlations holds with a common rate for all pairs of functio…
Measurement of the Depth of Maximum of Extensive Air Showers above 10(18) eV
2010
We describe the measurement of the depth of maximum, Xmax, of the longitudinal development of air showers induced by cosmic rays. Almost four thousand events above 10¹⁸ eV observed by the fluorescence detector of the Pierre Auger Observatory in coincidence with at least one surface detector station are selected for the analysis. The average shower maximum was found to evolve with energy at a rate of (106⁺³⁵₋₂₁) g/cm²/decade below 1018.24 ± 0.05 eV and (24 ± 3) g/cm²/decade above this energy. The measured shower-to-shower fluctuations decrease from about 55 to 26 g/cm². The interpretation of these results in terms of the cosmic ray mass composition is briefly discussed.
Identifying clouds over the Pierre Auger Observatory using infrared satellite data
2013
We describe a new method of identifying night-time clouds over the Pierre Auger Observatory using infrared data from the Imager instruments on the GOES-12 and GOES-13 satellites. We compare cloud. identifications resulting from our method to those obtained by the Central Laser Facility of the Auger Observatory. Using our new method we can now develop cloud probability maps for the 3000 km(2) of the Pierre Auger Observatory twice per hour with a spatial resolution of similar to 2.4 km by similar to 5.5 km. Our method could also be applied to monitor cloud cover for other ground-based observatories and for space-based observatories. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
