High performance commercial micro alloyed steels contain elements such as vanadium, which leads to a fine dispersion of vanadium carbide precipitates. The precipitation state, in terms of volume fraction and size distribution, plays a significant role in final mechanical properties of the material. Different austenitisation heat treatments were performed on a model ternary alloy FeCV. Precipitation states were characterised combining different experimental techniques. TEM was used to identify the chemical composition of observed precipitates. ICP mass spectroscopy was performed to measure the volume fraction of precipitates. Abstract Isothermal measurements of the partial vapour pressures have been carried out on {water + dimethylformamide (DMF)} at temperatures betweenT=305.15 K andT=323.15 K using an apparatus composed of a headspace sampler and a normal gas chromatograph. These data were simultaneously evaluated in one step with respect to the (composition dependent, integral) Flory-Huggins interaction parametergby means of a new method which minimizes the Gibbs energy of mixing and does not require chemical potentials. The expression forggiven by Koningsveld and Kleintjens, originally designed for polymer solutions, describes the present results best.

In November 2015, the FLuorescence EXplorer (FLEX) was selected as the eighth Earth Explorer mission of the European Space Agency. The tandem mission concept will provide measurements at a spectral and spatial resolution enabling the retrieval and interpretation of the full chlorophyll fluorescence spectrum emitted by the terrestrial vegetation. This manuscript tackles the study of vegetation pattern dynamics driven by inertial effects and secondary seed dispersal. To achieve this goal, an hyperbolic extension of the classical parabolic Klausmeier model of vegetation, generally used to predict the formation of banded vegetation along the slopes of semiarid environments, has been here considered together with an additional advective term mimicking the downslope motion of seeds. The use of UAV systems for surveying archaeological sites is becoming progressively more common due to the considerable potential in terms of rapidity of survey, costs and accuracy. The paper presents the first results of the photogrammetric survey of the archaeological site of Himera in Sicily (Italy) using by UAV systems. A complete documentation of the site through the production of a DSM and an ortho image were carried out.
