Solutions to the Gardner equation with multi-parameters and the rational case

We construct solutions to the Gardner equation in terms of trigonometric and hyperbolic functions, depending on several real parameters. Using a passage to the limit when one of these parameters goes to 0, we get, for each positive integer N , rational solutions as a quotient of polynomials in x and t depending on 2N parameters. We construct explicit expressions of these rational solutions for orders N = 1 until N = 3. We easily deduce solutions to the mKdV equation in terms of wronskians as well as rational solutions depending on 2N real parameters.

The Large Observatory For x-ray Timing (LOFT) was studied within ESA M3 Cosmic Vision framework and participated in the final down-selection for a launch slot in 2022-2024. Thanks to the unprecedented combination of effective area and spectral resolution of its main instrument, LOFT will study the behaviour of matter under extreme conditions, such as the strong gravitational field in the innermost regions of accretion flows close to black holes and neutron stars, and the supra-nuclear densities in the interior of neutron stars. <p style="text-align: justify;">L'effet colloïde-protecteur d'extraits mannoprotéiques de parois de levures vis-à-vis de la précipitation tartrique a été étudié en solution hydroalcoolique, en utilisant un IST mètre (Indice de Stabilité Tartrique).</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Nous avons montré que les deux extraits levuriens inhibaient la cristallisation du bitartrate de potassium au même titre que l'acide métatartrique et la carboxyméthylcellulose, mais à un niveau plus faible. Properties of zeros of solutions to third order nonlinear differential equations

We investigate the behavior of zeros of solutions to the certain type of third order nonlinear differential equations. We show that the behavior of zeros may be rather different and depend on the nature of nonlinearity in the equation. Main results in the paper are illustrated with a number of examples.

Abstract The spectrophotometric and thermodynamic properties of molecular complexes of flavine adenine dinucleotide (FAD) with some dihydro β-carboline derivatives have been investigated in aqueous solution. The molecular associations have been examined by means of electronic absorption spectra, since in each a new charge-transfer band has been located, and also the variation of the fluorescence emission of FAD on the solutions has been observed. The Fourier transform infrared spectra of Ac-(E)-deltaAbu-NHMe were analyzed to determine the predominant solution conformation(s) of this (E)-alpha,beta-dehydropeptide-related compound and the electron density perturbation in its amide groups. The measurements were performed in dichloromethane and acetonitrile in the region of mode vs (N-H), amide I, amide II and vs (C(alpha)=Cbeta).
