Se aportan datos corológicos de catorce plantas vasculares presentes en la provincia de Ávila (España). De ellas, cinco son primeras citas provinciales: Chamaesyce prostrata (Aiton) Small, Conyza sumatrensis (Retz.) E. Walker, Helianthus tuberosus L., Melia azedarach L. y Panicum miliaceum L. El resto de plantas vasculares no son muy conocidas en la zona. The concentrations of 21 perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs: C4-C14, C16, C18 carboxylates, C4, C6-C8 and C10 sulfonates and C8 sulfonamide) were determined in influent, effluent and sludge from 16 different sewage treatment plants (STPs) located in the Ebro (6), Guadalquivir (5), Jucar (2) and Llobregat (3) Rivers, in two consecutive years (2010 and 2011). The analytes were extracted by solid phase extraction (SPE) and determined by Liquid Chromatography triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (LC-QqQ-MS). The study was carried out to estimate the dietary intake of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in the Region of Valencia (Spain) in order to evaluate the resultant risk. The PBDE levels in fish and seafood (a total of 206 samples) were determined. Dietary intake was estimated using results of PBDE analyses in fish and seafood marketed in the Region of Valencia over the period 2007-2012 and data of the first Valencian Food Consumption Survey, conducted in 2010. Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease: Genetic and clinical spectrum in a Spanish clinical series

Objectives: To determine the genetic distribution and the phenotypic correlation of an extensive series of patients with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease in a geographically well-defined Mediterranean area. Methods: A thorough genetic screening, including most of the known genes involved in this disease, was performed and analyzed in this longitudinal descriptive study. Clinical data were analyzed and compared among the genetic subgroups. Results: Molecular diagnosis was accomplished in 365 of 438 patients (83.3%), with a higher success rate in demyelinating forms of the disease. A fauna of benthonic forarninifera was found in the continental Miocene from Buñol (Valencia, Spain). This fauna was considered as autochthonous, Two species were identified: <i>Rosalina douvillei</i>(CUSHMAN) and <i>Quinqueloculinai seminula</i> (LINNÉ). A few number of planktonic individuals were found. These individuals were refered to the species <i>Globorotalia</i> cf. <i>mayeri</i> CUSHMAN & ELLISOR.
