Twitter on myös vihapuheenvälittäjä. Tämä tutkimus käyttää laajaa, käsin luokiteltua twiittiaineistoa Marinin hallituksen ministereihin kohdistuvan vihamielisen puheen tutkimisessa. Tutkimuksen tavoite oli selvittää, kuinka yleistä ministereihin kohdistuva vihapuhe on, ja miten vihapuhe jakautuu sukupuolen, iän ja puoluekannan mukaan. Tutkin myös vihapuheen lähettäjien seurattavia ja tykkäyksiä. Tulosten perusteella valtioneuvostoon kohdistuva vihapuhe on yleistä, koska keskimäärin noin joka 20. ministerille lähetetty viesti on vihamielinen. Artikkelissamme käsittelemme poliitikkoihin kohdistuvaa vihapuhetta sukupuolittuneena ilmiönä, johon liittyvät monenlaiset tunteet ja affektit. Vihapuhe vaikuttaa kohteisiinsa monin tavoin ja saa aikaan erilaisia tunteita ja tuntemuksia. Määrittelemme vihapuheen tietyn ryhmän todelliseen tai oletettuun ominaisuuteen kohdistuvaksi uhkaavaksi, halveksivaksi tai syrjiväksi puheeksi, joka vaikuttaa kohteisiinsa fyysisen väkivallan tavoin. Tarkastelemme vihapuhetta rajatusti politiikan toimijoihin kohdistuvana verbaalisena poliittisena väkivaltana. polyphonic timbre perception was investigated in a cross-cultural context wherein Indian and Western nonmusicians rated short Indian and Western popular music excerpts (1.5 s, n = 200) on eight bipolar scales. Intrinsic dimensionality estimation revealed a higher number of perceptual dimensions in the timbre space for music from one's own culture. Factor analyses of Indian and Western participants' ratings resulted in highly similar factor solutions. The acoustic features that predicted the perceptual dimensions were similar across the two participant groups. Recent continuous task studies, such as narrative speech comprehension, show that fluctuations in brain functional connectivity (FC) are altered and enhanced compared to the resting state. Here, we characterized the fluctuations in FC during comprehension of speech and time-reversed speech conditions. The correlations of Hilbert envelope of source-level EEG data were used to quantify FC between spatially separate brain regions. Negli ultimi anni l’Europa ha dovuto affrontare le conseguenze di una crescente propaganda estremista, radicale e terroristica, che sempre più spesso trova spazio nei social media. Il contributo descrive il progetto COMMIT (COMMunIcation campaign against exTremism and radicalisation) che ha sviluppato, tra il 2020 e il 2022, una serie di attività di ricerca e di intervento con l’obiettivo, da un lato, di mappare il fenomeno della radicalizzazione online nei quattro Paesi partner (Italia, Grecia, Austria e Paesi Bassi) e individuare le caratteristiche dei gruppi più vulnerabili, dall’altro, di sviluppare le competenze di media literacy e di advocacy dei giovani destinatari del progetto.

However, studies in adults have failed to replicate such relationships. Drawing on the insights from Media Proximization Approach (MPA), the present chapter explores the dynamics of the online construction of the Other in the context of current refugee crisis and the phenomenon of hate speech within cyberspace. While content- and theme-wise, it takes under scrutiny online refugee-related discourses, on the theoretical and methodological level it presents a new approach to mediated construction of social reality based on the notion of distance and Self/Other or Us/Them dichotomy.
