Transporta infrastruktūra ir viens no galvenajiem pilsētas ekonomiskas dzinējspēkiem, tomēr, lai transporta sistēma būtu ilgtspējīga tai ir jāatbilst gan pašreizējām nepieciešamībām, gan nākotnes civilizāciju vajadzībām. AbstractUnder the Directive 2012/34/EU (21 November 2012) “the charges for … [rail] infrastructure … shall be set at the cost that is directly incurred as a result of operating the train service”. Automated Railway Signs Detection. Preliminary Results

Abstract Nowadays safety in railways is mostly achieved by automated system technologies such as ERTMS/ETCS. Nevertheless, on local railways (suburban and regional lines) several tasks still depend on the choices and actions of a human crew. With the aim to improve safety in such type of railways, this research proposes a system for the automatic detection and recognition of railway signs by means of the digital image processing technique. First field applications, carried out on the Italian railway network, show that the proposed system is very accurate (the percentage of correctly detected railway signs is about 97%), even at high train speeds.

It is common practice to assume full blending of the aged binder of reclaimed asphalt (RA) within the design of new asphalt mixtures. Although being practical, this assumption has often led designers to asphalt mixtures lacking binder. Hence, going towards recycled asphalt mixtures (RAM) there is a need to have a better understanding of the blending phenomena, to have a general agreement on terminology and finally adapting RA classification and mix design procedures accordingly. Latvijas Olimpiskās komandas kandidātu emociju dinamika

Maģistra darba mērķis bija pētīt Latvijas Olimpiskās komandas sportistu–kandidātu emociju dinamiku treniņos un sacensībās, kā arī analizēt to iespējamās atšķirības, gatavojoties Olimpiskajām spēlēm “Tokija 2020”. Pētījumā piedalījās 50 Latvijas labākie atlēti (18 sievietes un 32 vīrieši) vecumā no 17 līdz 35 gadiem, kuri pārstāvēja 16 sporta veidus. No 2020.gada janvāra līdz novembrim atlēti ziņoja par piedzīvotajām emocijām treniņos un sacensībās. Datu ieguvei tika izmantota adaptēta un lietošanai viedtālruņos pielāgota Ženēvas emociju apļa 3.0 versija. Beliefs and attitudes of Australian learner drivers toward driving and avoiding driving through floodwater

Driving through floodwater is a significant cause of flood-related injury and mortality, and opportunities exist to embed safe driving messages regarding floodwaters to novice drivers in graduated driver licensing schemes. To inform future educational efforts, we investigated the beliefs and attitudes of Australian learner drivers about driving and avoiding driving through floodwaters.
