Infection with the gastric bacterial pathogen Helicobacter pylori is typically contracted in early childhood and often persists for decades. The immunomodulatory properties of H. pylori that allow it to colonize humans persistently are believed to also account for H. pylori ’s protective effects against allergic and chronic inflammatory diseases. H. pylori infection efficiently reprograms dendritic cells (DCs) toward a tolerogenic phenotype and induces regulatory T cells (Tregs) with highly suppressive activity in models of allergen-induced asthma. Purpose To investigate the safety and efficacy of emergency treatment of acute aortic diseases with endovascular stent grafts. Methods In 11 patients (median age 55 years, range 18 - 85) with acute complications of descending aortic diseases endovascular emergency treatment was performed: traumatic aortic rupture (n = 4), penetrating ulcer with aortobronchial fistula or hematothorax (n = 4), acute type B dissection (n = 2, one with penetration, one with subacute mesenteric ischemia), and symptomatic aneurysm of the thoracic aorta (n = 1) with pain and diameter progression. 15 stent grafts were implanted (Talent n = 11, Vanguard/Stentor n = 4). This paper studies the technique applied by Andreu Febrer in the verse translation of Dante’s Commedia , in which he preserved both the metre and the meaning. The adopted point of view diverges from the usual appraising approach to this translation, describing instead the varied techniques used by the translator. The examples analised show a skilled and creative poet able to preserve the formal constriction without sacrificing the semantic accuracy with respect to Dante’s text.

Participation of experts in both commercial arbitration proceedings and investment arbitration proceedings is a well-known phenomenon for decades. A trend asking for parties-appointed experts to be independent is under development since the end of the twentieth century. This study aims to highlight how an existential-humanistic perspective can inform athlete support and in doing so, emphasise the importance of explicating the philosophical underpinnings of athlete lifestyle support. Drawing on applied experience with elite youth cricketers over a twelve-month period, ethnographic data was collected through the observation, maintenance of case notes and a practitioner reflective diary. On Daugavet indices of thickness

Inspired by R. Whitley's thickness index the last named author recently introduced the Daugavet index of thickness of Banach spaces. We continue the investigation of the behavior of this index and also consider two new versions of the Daugavet index of thickness, which helps us solve an open problem which connect the Daugavet indices with the Daugavet equation. Moreover, we will improve the formerly known estimates of the behavior of Daugavet index on direct sums of Banach spaces by establishing sharp bounds. Comparison of ReoPro((R)) (abciximab) versus intracoronary thrombolysis for early coronary stent thrombosis.

AIMS: This study evaluated the treatment of early coronary stent thrombosis with intracoronary urokinase or the platelet glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor inhibitor ReoPro (abciximab). METHODS AND RESULTS: Seventy-four patients (126 stents) were treated immediately after identification of early (0-30 days) coronary stent thrombosis. Twenty-nine patients were treated with intracoronary urokinase (UK) (UK alone in 19; UK and additional balloon angioplasty in 10) and another 45 patients were given ReoPro((R)) (abciximab) (0.25 mg/kg as a bolus alone in 26, abciximab with additional balloon angioplasty in 19) within 30 days of stent implantation.
