Endoscopic management of gastric outlet obstruction disease
2019
Gastric outlet obstruction (GOO) is a clinical syndrome characterized by a variety of symptoms. It may be caused by motor disorders and by benign or malignant mechanical disease. Endoscopic management of benign disease is mainly based on balloon dilation, augmented by the use of covered self-expanding metal stents (SEMS) in refractory disease. Endoscopic ultrasound-guided gastroenterostomy (EUS-GE) is increasingly used as an alternative method, although more studies with longer follow up are needed before it can be considered as a recommended therapy. Surgery remains the last resort. Endoscopic management of malignant GOO is based on SEMS placement as an alternative to palliative surgery, b…
An International, Multicenter Retrospective Observational Study to Assess Technical Success and Clinical Outcomes of Patients Treated with an Endovas…
2022
Introduction: Type III endoleaks post-endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) warrant treatment because they increase pressure within the aneurysm sac leading to increased rupture risk. The treatment may be difficult with regular endovascular devices. Endovascular aneurysm sealing (EVAS) might provide a treatment option for type III endoleaks, especially if located near the flow divider. This study aims to analyze clinical outcomes of EVAS for type III endoleaks after EVAR. Methods: This is an international, retrospective, observational cohort study including data from 8 European institutions. Results: A total of 20 patients were identified of which 80% had a type IIIb endoleak and the r…
Endovascular management of a large aneurysm of the superior vena cava involving internal thoracic vein with remodeling technique
2016
International audience; We report a case describing endovascular treatment of a large aneurysm of the superior vena cava involving internal thoracic vein. The goal of this case report is to highlight the contributing role of embolization with remodeling technique in such an exceptional condition.
Optimal application of compressive palatal stents following mesiodens removal in pediatric patients:a Randomized Controlled Trial
2021
Background There is no scientific evidence supporting the choice of a palatal stent in patients who underwent removal of an impacted supernumerary tooth. We aimed to investigate the effects of palatal stents in patients who underwent supernumerary tooth removal through a palatal approach and to suggest the optimal stent thickness and material. Material and Methods We recruited 144 patients who underwent extraction of a supernumerary tooth between the maxillary anterior teeth. Subjects were assigned to a control group (CG) or one of four compressive palatal stent groups (CPSGs) classified by the thickness and material of the thermoplastic acrylic stent used. Palatal gingival swelling and obj…
Datortomogrāfijas izmeklējuma taktika hepatocelulārās karcinomas diagnostikā
2016

Endovascular Rescue Treatment for Occlusion of Renal Arteries Resulting in Acute Renal Failure
2018
Urgent revascularization of renal arteries for their occlusions resulting in acute renal failure still remains a therapeutic challenge. In this paper we describe 3 cases of successful endovascular interventions for acute non-iatrogenic occlusions of renal arteries. In the first patient we managed thrombotic occlusion of the renal artery that coexisted with gastrointestinal bleeding. We recanalized occluded renal artery using an extraction catheter and stenting, and managed the bleeding with the use of embolization coils. Endovascular repair resulted in normal dieresis, still several days after the intervention gastrointestinal hemorrhage recurred and patient died due to multiple organ failu…
Sarunbotu izmantošana un attīstīšana Latvijas valsts institūciju tīmekļa vietnēs
2022
Sarunbotu tehnoloģijas attīstība pēdējos divos gados ir spērusi kvalitatīvu soli uz priekšu gan Latvijā, gan citās valstīs. Arvien vairāk tiek izmantotas mākslīgā intelekta tehnoloģijas, lai nodrošinātu lietotājiem informācijas pieejamību 24 / 7 vienkāršā un ierastā komunikācijas veidā tiešsaistē. Kultūras Informācijas sistēmu centrs sadarbībā ar uzņēmumu “Tilde” ir izveidojušas valodu platformu hugo.lv, kur papildus citām valodu tehnoloģijām, ir izveidota vienkāršota sarunbotu izveidošanas un attīstīšanas platforma. Latvijas valsts pārvaldes iestādes pēdējos pāris gados ir izveidojušas un ieviesušas sarunbotu tehnoloģijas nodrošinot saviem klientiem jaunu un modernu sadarbības resursu. Bak…
