Unsaturated fatty acid bioavailability in growing rats fed low or adequate protein diets with sunflower or soybean oils

Abstract The relationship of serum very low density lipoproteins (VLDL) to hepatic lipid composition was studied after 28 days of protein depletion to determine the interactions between dietary protein levels and the essential fatty acid (EFA) availability. This was examined in rats using a dietary combination of 20% or 2% casein with 5% vegetable oils, variable in their n-6:n-3 fatty acid ratios. Rats were divided into four groups, SFC (20% casein + 5% sunflower oil ); SFd (2% casein + 5% sunflower oil ); SC (20% casein + 5% soybean oil ); Sd (2% casein + 5% soybean oil ). Water-Blown Polyisocyanurate Foams From Vegetable Oil Polyols

Polyols with the hydroxyl value OHV from 290 to 318 mg KOH/g are synthesized from rapeseed, sunflower seed, flaxseed, or coconut oils by the way of their: (1) transesterification with triethanolamine or (2) amidization with diethanolamine. The influence of water as the blowing agent on the storage stability of the polyol premix system is assessed from values of the polyol premix system pH, acid value, and variations in such parameters as cream and gel time. Synthesis of azamacrocycles via a Mitsunobu reaction

Reaction of pernosylated diethylenetriamine and 2-substituted propane-1,3-diols in dry THF in the presence of triphenylphosphine and diisopropyl azodicarboxylate gives the corresponding protected 9-substituted 1,4,7-triazacyclodecanes. The Mitsunobu reaction was also used in the preparation of 3-substituted 1,5,9-triazacyclododecanes and macrocyclic pyridine derivatives.

Sebbene sia stato ipotizzato che questi rilievi facessero parte di una ancona posta all’interno della chiesa, è molto provabile che adornassero in origine il portico un tempo esistente sopra il portale principale.

Crystal structure and absolute configuration of (4S,5R,6S)-4,5,6-trihydroxy-3-methylcyclohex-2-enone (gabosine H)

The absolute configuration of the title compound, determined as 4S,5R,6S on the basis of the synthetic pathway, was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The mol­ecule is formed by a substituted six-membered cyclo­hexene ring adopting an envelope conformation and substituted by carbonyl, methyl and hydroxyl groups. The supra­molecular structure is mainly built by a combination of O—H⋯O and weaker C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
