Sanna Boman tutki väitöskirjassaan koloradonkuoriaisen potentiaalia levitä Suomeen. Tarkastelemme tässä artikkelissa vironkielisten suomen oppijoiden osallistumista Suomen kansallisen kielitestin, Yleisten kielitutkintojen, keskitason tutkintoon ja heidän kielitaitoprofiiliaan tutkintotulosten valossa. Vertaamme tuloksia yleiseen tutkintomenestykseen sekä osallistujien taustaan ja pohdimme suomen kielen asemaa oppimisen kohteena vironkielisten näkökulmasta. Analyysimetodina käytämme kuvailevaa tilastollista analyysia sekä tilastollista päättelyä. Tulokset osoittavat, että vironkieliset osallistujat menestyvät tutkinnossa hyvin ja erityisesti ymmärtämistaidot ovat tutkitussa ryhmässä vahvat. Tassa tutkimuksessa selvitetaan sita, millaisia kasityksia rehtoreilla, opettajilla ja opiskelijoilla on vuorovaikutuksen mahdollistavasta toiminnasta eli yhteistyosta Lukiokoulutukseen valmistavan koulutuksen (LUVA) ja muun lukiotoiminnan valilla. Parental discourses of language ideology and linguistic identity in multilingual Finland

Finland is officially a bilingual country but it is in practice multilingual. In the current study, we examined how mothers and fathers of mixed-language families linguistically identified themselves and others, and how ideological discourses and concepts historically and socially situated in Finland circulated through the parents’ talk. The parents of three families in which at least Finnish, Swedish and English were used on a daily basis were interviewed. This paper presents a study of the use of constructed action (CA) in the stories and conversations of adult Finnish Sign Language (FinSL) signers of different ages. CA is defined here as a type of depiction in which a signer enacts the actions, feelings, thoughts and utterances of discourse referents with different parts of their body. Most studies on CA in sign languages have been done on the basis of signed storytelling, and little is known about how the use of CA varies in different discourse types. In this article, we analyse the construction of Finnish constitutional bilingualism in the aftermath of gaining independence, a traumatic civil war and during the construction of a new republican polity based on regulated parliamentarism in 1917–1919. We take a multi-sited and historically informed approach to the dynamics of political discourse at the parliamentary level, analysing the discursive cycles of people, nationality and nation.
