Search for the Scalar Top Quark inpp¯Collisions ats=1.8TeV

We have performed a search for scalar top quark (stop) pair production in the inclusive electron-muon-missing transverse energy final state, using a sample of p (p) over bar events corresponding to 108.3 pb (-1) of data collected with the D0 detector at Fermilab. The search is done in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model assuming that the sneutrino is the lightest supersymmetric particle. For the dominant decays of the lightest stop, (t) over tilde-->b (χ) over tilde (+)(1) and (t) over tilde-->bl (ν) over tilde , no evidence for signal is found. Perturbative unitarity constraints on the NMSSM Higgs Sector

Abstract We place perturbative unitarity constraints on both the dimensionful and dimensionless parameters in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) Higgs Sector. These constraints, plus the requirement that the singlino and/or Higgsino constitutes at least part of the observed dark matter relic abundance, generate upper bounds on the Higgs, neutralino and chargino mass spectrum. Requiring higher-order corrections to be no more than 41% of the tree-level value, we obtain an upper bound of 20 TeV for the heavy Higgses and 12 TeV for the charginos and neutralinos outside defined fine-tuned regions. Supersymmetric electroweak baryogenesis

We calculate the baryon asymmetry generated at the electroweak phase transition in the minimal supersymmetric standard model, using a new method to compute the CP-violating asymmetry in the Higgsino flux reflected into the unbroken phase. The method is based on a Higgs insertion expansion. We find that the CP asymmetry at leading order is proportional to the change in $\tan \beta$ in the bubble wall, which is at most of order $10^{-2}$, while at next-to-leading order this suppression factor disappears. This result may enhance the final baryon asymmetry generated during the electroweak phase transition for small $\Delta \beta (< 10^{-3}$).

Search for admixture of scalar top quarks in the tt¯ lepton + jets final state at s=1.96 TeV

A search for pair production of the lightest supersymmetric partner of the top quark is performed in the lepton+jets channel using 0.9 fb-1 of data collected by the D0 experiment. Kinematic differences between scalar top quark pair production and the dominant top quark pair production background are used to separate the two processes. First limits from Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider for the scalar top quark decaying to a chargino and a b quark are obtained for scalar top quark masses of 130-190 GeV and chargino masses of 90-150 GeV.

Search for Neutral Higgs Bosons at Hightanβin theb(h/H/A)→bτ+τ−Channel

The first search in p (p) over bar collisions at root s = 1.96 TeV for the production of neutral Higgs bosons in association with bottom quarks and decaying in two tau leptons is presented. The cross section for this process is enhanced in many extensions of the standard model, such as its minimal supersymmetric extension (MSSM) at large tan beta. The data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 328 pb(-1), were collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. An upper limit is set on the production cross section of neutral Higgs bosons in the mass range of 90 to 150 GeV, and this limit is used to exclude part of the MSSM parameter space.

Approximate NNLO predictions for the stop-pair production cross section at the LHC

If the minimal supersymmetric standard model at scales of around 1 TeV is realized in nature, the total top-squark pair production cross section should be measurable at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. In this work we present precise predictions for this observable, which are based upon approximate NNLO formulas obtained using soft-collinear effective theory methods.

The importance of being rigid: D6-brane model building on with discrete torsion

Model building with rigid D6-branes on the Type IIA orientifold onT 6 =Z2 Z 0 with discrete torsion is considered. The systematic search for models of particle physics is signicantly reduced by proving new symmetries among dierent lattice orientations. Suitable rigid D6-branes without matter in adjoint and symmetric representations are classied, and SO(2N) and USp(2N) gauge factors on orientifold invariant D6-branes are distinguished in terms of their discrete Wilson line and displacement parameters. Search for Supersymmetry inppCollisions ats=7  TeVin Events with Two Photons and Missing Transverse Energy

A search for supersymmetry in the context of general gauge-mediated breaking with the lightest neutralino as the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle and the gravitino as the lightest is presented. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb(-1) recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The search is performed by using events containing two or more isolated photons, at least one hadronic jet, and significant missing transverse energy. No excess of events at high missing transverse energy is observed. Searches for sleptons and squarks in e(+)e(-) collisions at 189 GeV

1999

The data collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 188.6 GeV by ALEPH at LEP, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 173.6 pb$^{-1}$, are analysed in a search for the scalar partners of quarks and leptons predicted in supersymmetric models. No evidence for any such particles was found in the decay channels $\sle \to \ell \chi$, $\stop \rightarrow \mathrm{c}\neu$, $\stop \rightarrow \mathrm{b}\ell\snu$, $\sbot \rightarrow \mathrm{b}\neu$, and $\mathrm{\tilde{q}} \rightarrow \mathrm{q}\neu$. Improved mass lower limits have been obtained in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model.

Search for neutral Higgs bosons in the multi-b-jet topology in 5.2 fb−1 of pp¯ collisions at s=1.96 TeV

Data recorded by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider are analyzed to search for neutral Higgs bosons produced in association with b quarks. The search is performed in the three-b-quark channel using multijet-triggered events corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.2fb-1. In the absence of any significant excess above background, limits are set on the cross section multiplied by the branching ratio in the Higgs boson mass range 90 to 300 GeV, extending the excluded regions in the parameter space of the minimal supersymmetric standard model.
