Governance della filiera tra intervento pubblico e autonomia privata

2020

This volume deals with the complex issue of the agri-food chain, which is a formula for synthesis around which the doctrinal and ideological debate has developed on the process of integrating legal relations that is established from agricultural production to its placing on the market. The extent of the field of investigation, its limits and boundaries affect areas of relevance that affect related sectors with still ambiguous and undefined contours (agrobusiness, agri-food and agro-industrial). The characteristics of the agri-food industry, its differences from agro-industrial, its discipline are always disputed; and even now the legislation and authoritative and distinguished scholars deny…

Legumes in 21st century Europe: present and future importance in agri-food systems? New challenges for reseach.

2013

Intensification of agriculture since 1950 has globally led to the decline of grain legume crops, which currently represent less than 3 % of arable crops in France and Europe. Nevertheless, legumes have several major assets (i) as plant proteins for animal feed and human food and (ii) as plants fixing atmospheric N2 and thereby saving nitrogen inputs in cropping systems, and (iii) as diversification crops. The analysis of forage and grain legume producing systems in France showed that the dominant system results in a lock-in of the different factors limiting legume insertion into the current systems. But legumes could have a major role to play in the agroecological transition towards more su…

L'idea …

A Comparative Analysis of the Social Performance of Global and Local Berry Supply Chains

2016

The goal of this paper is twofold: to comparatively analyze the social performance of global and local berry supply chains and to explore the ways in which the social dimension is embedded in the overall performance of food supply chains. To achieve this goal, the social performance of five global and local food supply chains in two countries are analyzed: wild blueberry supply chains in Latvia and cultivated raspberry supply chains in Serbia. The study addresses two research questions: (1) What is the social performance of the local and global supply chains? (2) How can references to context help improve understanding of the social dimension and social performance of food supply chains? To…

Effect of Vibration on the Quality of Strawberry Fruits Caused by Simulated Transport

2015

Mechanical damage of agricultural products is one of the main problems in the harvest and postharvest chain due to the large economic loss that the shelf life reduction could generate. Measurements of change in the chemical components of highly perishable products and microbial growth under different static and dynamic loads is the first step in the development of intelligent logistic units that could help in predicting the residual shelf life in order to minimize losses along the supply chain. In our research, the effects of vibration along the supply chain of a case study were analyzed on strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) and woodland strawberry (Fragaria vesca) in terms of microbiological…

Blockchain applications in management: A bibliometric analysis and literature review

2021

Blockchain has gained substantial recognition for its ability to induce transformation and innovation in existing business models and frameworks. Consequently, the application of this technology to the management domain and its processes has attracted increasing interest from academia and industry. Although research addressing the use of blockchain in management has gained momentum, this field presents a discontinuous overview of the current scope and boundary of the knowledge thereon. This study addresses this lacuna using bibliometric analyses to synthesize the prior literature. Data from Scopus 586 articles, entailing contributions from 72 countries, 273 journals, 1016 organizations, and…

Current economic downturn and supply chain: The significance of demand and inventory smoothing

2014

The aim of this article is to analyse and quantify the effects of demand and inventory smoothing into supply-chain performance, facing the extreme volatility and impetuous alteration of the market produced by the current economic recession. To do so, we model a traditional serial three-stage supply chain and we test five settings of order smoothing under two shocks in the market demand, and we measure effects in terms of internal process benefits and customer service level of all supply chain partners. Results show that the implementation of this inventory strategy should be based on reward schemes; in fact a higher level of smoothing can generally improve the performance of the upstream st…

Network Dynamics of an Energy Supply Chain: Applicability of the Network Approach to Analysing the Industrial Ecology Practices of Companies

2006

Currently firms face environmental challenges, which require more emphasis on inter-organisational environmental improvement efforts. A field of study of industrial ecology offers some novel approaches for inter-organisational environmental management. It emphasises symbiotic linkages between firms or other organisations in which waste of one actor is used as raw material by others. The industrial network approach has been suggested as a possible framework for developing managerial implications for industrial ecology. This study analyses an example of an industrial ecosystem with notions of the network theory, and concludes that the industrial network approach is useful in analysing and des…

Negotiation Processes as Success Factors in Supply Chain Transactions

2017

The topics raw materials, waste and energy will be the top economic issues of the future, or influence and affect all other subjects (human resources, culture, society,...); all combined with technology, IT and Tech Communication. The shortage of raw materials is one of the central issues in the future perspective and this fact is already influencing the relationship between buyer, producer and supplier. and producers respect to the procurement of raw materials, goods and products are examined specifically in terms of their economic and psychological satisfaction.
