Thanks to the using of liquid carrier, suspension plasma spray (SPS) enables the manufacture of finely structured coatings. As for conventional plasma spraying (APS), the microstructures of SPS coatings can be tailored by controlling the spray conditions. International audience; A detailed investigation into the mechanisms of nanocapsule formation by means of the two stages “emulsion–diffusion” process is reported. Such widely used process is still poorly understood. An emulsion of oil, polymer and ethyl acetate is fabricated as a first step; dilution with pure water allows ethyl acetate to diffuse out from the droplets, leaving a suspension of nanocapsules at the end. It has been shown that the size of nanocapsules was related to the chemical composition of the organic phase and the size of primary emulsion through a simple geometrical relationship. Fiber Suspension Flows: Simulations and Existence Results

Main result of this article is demonstrating the weak global in time well posedness result for the equations governing fiber suspension flows for sufficiently small initial data under mild assumptions about the nonlinear equation for fiber orientation dynamics and the constitutive law, thus extending the previous local in time results. The required estimate of growth of the H 2 norm is granted if the L ∞ norm of fiber orientation state variables remains bounded. This is the case for fiber orientation tensors.
Experimental Determination of Four-Time Stimulated Echoes in Liquids, Colloidal Suspensions, and Crystals

Four-time stimulated echo experiments have been used to monitor the temporal evolution of the reorientation rates of deuterated molecules or colloidal suspensions. We present extended phase cycles for this seven-pulse experiment. In order to test its performance three vastly different materials are chosen. These include a crystal in which the molecules carry out well-defined 180 degrees flips and a supercooled liquid characterized by a distribution of jump angles centered around 10 degrees. As an example for rotational diffusion, data on a concentrated suspension of polystyrene spheres in a viscous medium are presented. Copyright 1998 Academic Press.

This study was designed to analyze upper extremity and core muscle activation performing push-ups under different stability conditions and body positions. Trained university male students (n= 29) performed 3 push-ups each under stable conditions and using suspension device (AirFit Trainer ProTM) with their hands at 2 different heights (i.e., 10 and 65 cm). Push-up speed was controlled using a metronome and the testing order was randomized. Abstract In this paper, the H∞ fault-tolerant control (FTC) problem of active suspensions with finite-frequency constraints is investigated. A full-car model is employed in the controller design such that the heave, pitch and roll motions can be simultaneously controlled. Both the actuator faults and external disturbance are considered in the controller design. In this study, a novel two-step methodology is applied in designing static output-feedback controllers for a class of vehicle suspension systems. Following this approach, an effective synthesis of static output-feedback controllers can be carried out by solving two consecutive linear matrix inequality optimisation problems. In this paper, a new strategy to design static output-feedback controllers for a class of vehicle suspension systems is presented. A theoretical background on recent advances in output-feedback control is first provided, which makes possible an effective synthesis of static output-feedback controllers by solving a single linear matrix inequality optimization problem.
