Recent studies on boys and young men’s heterosexual practices point in contradictory directions. On the one hand, boys and young men seem to be placing less value on “hard”, overtly aggressive masculinity and compulsive heterosexuality, in keeping with their adoption of more egalitarian attitudes in their sexual relationships. On the other hand, the hegemonic masculine notions that associate “real” men with sexual prowess persist as well. Diet composition and seasonal feeding patterns of a freshwater ringed seal (Pusa hispida saimensis)

The Saimaa ringed seal (Pusa hispida saimensis) is one of the few freshwater seal populations worldwide. The major conservation issue of this critically endangered population is bycatch mortality. We used digestive tract content and stable isotopes (d13C and d15N) to estimate the diet and seasonal feeding patterns for gaining better understanding of the seals feeding habits and potential conservation implications. The diet was similar across age groups. Altogether 15 fish species were identified and the most important were smelt (Osmerus eperlanus), ruff (Gymnocephalus cernuus), perch (Perca fluviatilis), vendace (Coregonus albula) and cyprinids. We compared each individual group member’s attachment fit with the attachment of the other group members. Participants were 201 members of 20 therapy groups who sought treatment because they were overweight or obese. Group members completed the Attachment Style Questionnaire before commencing treatment and the Group Questionnaire at three points during group treatment. Lake Lovojärvi, at its deepest point of 17.5 m, is permanently stratified forming two water layers. The mixolimnion (the upper layer, from 0 to 10 m depth) is affected by seasonal changes while the monimolimnion (bottom layer, from 10 to 17.5 m depth) does not mix and is not affected by seasonal changes. As a result, the lake stores large quantities of dissolved inorganic carbon and methane. I used a multiple stable isotope approach to gain insight into the carbon cycle and water balance of Lovojärvi. Volume preserving mean curvature flows near strictly stable sets in flat torus

In this paper we establish a new stability result for the smooth volume preserving mean curvature flow in flat torus $\mathbb T^n$ in low dimensions $n=3,4$. The result says roughly that if the initial set is near to a strictly stable set in $\mathbb T^n$ in $H^3$-sense, then the corresponding flow has infinite lifetime and converges exponentially fast to a translate of the strictly stable (critical) set in $W^{2,5}$-sense.

Children’s preference for fruit and vegetables must emerge during childhood. At children’s homes, mothers and fathers influence children’s developing food preferences with their own preferences and actions. The purpose of the study was to reveal the association parents have with their children’s fruit and vegetable preferences. The study was conducted in a sample of Finnish mothers and fathers of 3–5-year-old children. The participants were recruited, and questionnaires distributed through early childhood education and care centers in 2014 and 2015.
