Lambda substitution algebras

1993

In the paper an algebraic metatheory of type-free λ-calculus is developed. Our version is based on lambda substitution algebras (λSAs), which are just SAs introduced by Feldman (for algebraizing equational logic) enriched with a countable family of unary operations of λ-abstraction and a binary operation of application. Two representation theorems, syntactical and semantic, are proved, what directly provides completeness theorems.

On mutually permutable products of finite groups

2005

Abstract In this paper a structural theorem about mutually permutable products of finite groups is obtained. This result is used to derive some results on mutually permutable products of groups whose chief factors are simple. Some earlier results on mutually permutable products of supersoluble groups appear as particular cases.

On totally permutable products of finite groups

2005

[EN] The behaviour of totally permutable products of finite groups with respect to certain classes of groups is studied in the paper. The results are applied to obtain information about totally permutable products of T, PT, and PST-groups.

Red currant and black current, new cultivated fruits in late medieval and early modern Europe: Historic and archaeobotanical evidence

2016

International audience; Red and black currants are cultivated as garden shrubs in Germany, Holland, Denmark and the eastern neighbours of the Baltic since 500-600 years (Karg 2007, Wiethold 2007). Older medieval archaeobotanical finds in central and northern Europe are doubtful concerning dating and/or determination. Some of them may represent some rare collections from the wild. The origin of cultivation is estimated in northern France or Belgium (Killermann, cited by Hegi 1961 : 53), but detailed modern research on this question is still lacking. Nevertheless, the centre of biodiversity of Ribes rubrum L. and Ribes nigrum L. is clearly located in northern and north-western Europe. The fru…

Personalized medicine for allergy treatment: Allergen immunotherapy still a unique and unmatched model

2021

International audience; The introduction of personalized medicine (PM) has been a milestone in the history of medical therapy, because it has revolutionized the previous approach of treating the disease with that of treating the patient. It is known today that diseases can occur in different genetic variants, making specific treatments of proven efficacy necessary for a given endotype. Allergic diseases are particularly suitable for PM, because they meet the therapeutic success requirements, including a known molecular mechanism of the disease, a diagnostic tool for such disease, and a treatment blocking the mechanism. The stakes of PM in allergic patients are molecular diagnostics, to dete…

Gabor systems and almost periodic functions

2017

Abstract Inspired by results of Kim and Ron, given a Gabor frame in L 2 ( R ) , we determine a non-countable generalized frame for the non-separable space AP 2 ( R ) of the Besicovic almost periodic functions. Gabor type frames for suitable separable subspaces of AP 2 ( R ) are constructed. We show furthermore that Bessel-type estimates hold for the AP norm with respect to a countable Gabor system using suitable almost periodic norms of sequences.

Capillary electrophoretic and extraction conditions for the analysis of Catha edulis FORKS active principles

2013

A capillary electrophoretic method, which allowed the detection and separation of the active principles of Catha edulis, i.e. cathinone, cathine and phenylpropanolamine, was developed. A suitable internal standard (nicotinamide), which permitted the quantification of the analytes reducing the variability of the migration times due to EOF changes, was identified. The analytical method was validated, assessing linearity, sensitivity and repeatability, showing optimal features for the analysis of the vegetable material. Moreover extraction conditions were investigated to achieve the exhaustion of the plant material in the fastest and most efficient way to meet the requirements of the Court.
