Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitettiin oppilaiden näkemyksiä luonnontieteiden opettajan auktoriteetista, sen muodostumisesta ja kehittämisestä. Tutkimus pohjautuu fenomenologis-hermeneuttisen tutkimuksen piirteisiin. Oppilaiden (N = 25) näkemyksiä selvitettiin kyselytutkimuksen avulla ja tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin sekä tilastollisen analyysin että aineistolähtöisen sisällönanalyysin keinoin. Tulosten perusteella auktoriteetti liitettiin osaksi opettajan persoonaa ja asiantuntijuutta. Koska kieltenoppijat ovat nykypäivänä entistä homogeenisempi ryhmä, kaivataan vieraan kielen opetukseen vaihtelevia ideoita ja opetusmetodeja. Elokuvat ovat muun muassa autenttisuutensa ja monikanavaisuutensa vuoksi hyödyllinen keino opettaa vierasta kieltä, myös englantia vieraana kielenä. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvittää, miten suomalaiset englanninopettajat käyttävät elokuvia omassa opetuksessaan ja mitä mieltä he ovat elokuvien käytöstä viidellä eri kieltenopetuksen osa-alueella: suullisen kielitaidon, kirjoittamisen, sanaston, kieliopin ja kulttuurin opettamisessa. Continuous professional development of teachers is of growing interest globally, as it is considered vital to cope effectively with ongoing changes and to improve the quality of education. This qualitative case study explores potential and actual barriers that hinder teachers’ professional development in Ethiopian schools. Data was collected via interviews and focus group discussions from 37 purposively sampled participants. In this article, we examine Finnish class teachers as citizenship educators. Over the last ten years, the autonomous position of the Finnish teacher has become a symbol of the world-famous education system, and this study aims to illustrate how this freedom comes true in the framework of teacher as a citizenship educator. A prior study shows that teachers mostly share the same universal values, emphasizing altruism rather than individualism. Los datos que se aportan en esta síntesis anual nos indican que existe un crecimiento muy relevante no sólo en las visitas sino, sobre todo, en la participación del Geoforo Iberoamericano a través de las opiniones de alumnos y docentes. La didáctica de la Geografía se transforma en educación ciudadana por medio de las redes sociales, una aspiración que se ha gestado desde el año 2009. La colaboración de las personas de un lado y otro del Océano Atlántico nos permitirá definir con más rigor y precisión los desafíos de la formación docente en los próximos años.
La mirada de los docentes hacia su ciudad: identidades urbanas y educación patrimonial

Con la presente investigación1 nos acercamos a la peculiar mirada de los docentes hacia su ciudad. Queremos averiguar si existe realmente una identidad docente en esta observación que desarrollan los educadores ante lo urbano. Para ello utilizamos una metodología basada en los estudios de caso (Hubard, 2008), habiendo podido acceder a las opiniones de educadores mediante entrevistas y actividades participativas. Hemos centrado nuestro análisis en docentes de dos ciudades: Montevideo (Uruguay) y Valencia (España).
