Polish Yellow Sweet Clover (Melilotus officinalis L.) Honey, Chromatographic Fingerprints, and Chemical Markers
2017
A case study of Polish Melilotus officinalis honey was presented for the first time. Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) (after steam distillation, Soxhlet extraction, ultrasonic solvent extraction, and solid phase extraction (SPE)) and targeted high performance liquid chromatography with a photodiode array detector (HPLC-PAD) were applied to determine the characteristic components of honey. While ubiquitous in most honeys, carbohydrates, terpene derivatives, and phenylacetic acid dominated in the Soxhlet extracts (25.54%) and in the application of SPE (13.04%). In addition, lumichrome (1.85%) was found, and may be considered as a marker of this honey. Due to the presence of these …
Laying the foundations for gene therapy in Italy for patients with haemophilia A: A Delphi consensus study
2022
IntroductionCurrent treatment for haemophilia A involves factor VIII replacement or non-replacement (emicizumab) therapies, neither of which permanently normalise factor VIII levels. Gene therapy using adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors is an emerging long-term treatment strategy for people with severe haemophilia A (PwSHA) that is likely to be available for clinical use in the near future. AimThis article proposes practical guidelines for the assessment, treatment, and follow-up of potential PwSHA candidates for AAV-based gene therapy. MethodUsing the Delphi method, a working group of Italian stakeholders with expertise in and knowledge of the care of adults with haemophilia A analysed l…
Atomic fluorescence determination of inorganic arsenic in soils after microwave-assisted distillation
2000
Abstract An inexpensive microwave-assisted distillation procedure has been developed for quantitative determination of inorganic arsenic in soils by atomic fluorescence spectrometry (AFS). After reduction of As(V) to its trivalent state with potassium iodide, inorganic arsenic was distilled as AsCl 3 that was finally determined by atomic fluorescence after hydride generation with NaBH 4 in HCl medium. The different parameters that control the distillation: concentration and volume of HCl, time of distillation, sample weight, and oven load, were studied. The methodology developed has a detection limit of 0.015 μg l −1 , which corresponds to a concentration of 0.006 μg of As per gram of soil,…
Development and validation of the team learning questionnaire
2008
Nowadays the organizational scenario is changing in several aspects that affect organization commitment. Team learning construct has emerged as a tool to deal with these changes and the dynamic nature of this situation. Although team learning has acquired importance in recent years, instruments to measure team learning should be developed. The aim of this paper is to develop and validate a team learning scale, the Team Learning Questionnaire, attending to four dimensions of team learning: Continued Improvement Seeking, Dialogue Promotion and Open Communication, Collaborative Learning, and Strategic and Proactive Leadership that Promote Learning. Results provide evidence of the reliability a…
Hierarchies of probabilistic and team FIN-learning
2001
AbstractA FIN-learning machine M receives successive values of the function f it is learning and at some moment outputs a conjecture which should be a correct index of f. FIN learning has two extensions: (1) If M flips fair coins and learns a function with certain probability p, we have FIN〈p〉-learning. (2) When n machines simultaneously try to learn the same function f and at least k of these machines output correct indices of f, we have learning by a [k,n]FIN team. Sometimes a team or a probabilistic learner can simulate another one, if their probabilities p1,p2 (or team success ratios k1/n1,k2/n2) are close enough (Daley et al., in: Valiant, Waranth (Eds.), Proc. 5th Annual Workshop on C…
Team learning as a game
1997
A machine FIN-learning machine M receives successive values of the function f it is learning; at some point M outputs conjecture which should be a correct index of f. When n machines simultaneously learn the same function f and at least k of these machines outut correct indices of f, we have team learning [k,n]FIN. Papers [DKV92, DK96] show that sometimes a team or a robabilistic learner can simulate another one, if its probability p (or team success ratio k/n) is close enough. On the other hand, there are critical ratios which mae simulation o FIN(p2) by FIN(p1) imossible whenever p2 _< r < p1 or some critical ratio r. Accordingly to [DKV92] the critical ratio closest to 1/2 rom the let is…

Variables that Modulate Home Care Effectiveness in Patients with Chronic Cardiovascular Disease
2019
Introduction: The growing population of patients with chronic cardiovascular disease has many complex biomedical and psychosocial needs and requires an integrated teamwork approach. There is a need to develop a model for assessing the effectiveness of home care in patients with chronic cardiovascular disease, which would take the needs of informal caregivers into account. The purpose of the study was to determine the variables affecting the level of effectiveness of home care, defined as the co-occurrence of high: quality of life (QoL), health behaviours and met needs.Subjects and method: The study involved 193 patients under the care of district nurses and 161 informal caregivers. The study…
Organisation et conditions de la formation des doctorants dans le cadre de l'université française

This research, refering to the theoretical framework of Pierre Bourdieu, shows that higher education can be considered as a “champ scientifique”, defined as a microcosm, relatively autonomous from the economic and social macrocosm, nevertheless strongly affected by its values and its evolution toward liberalism. This evolution is clearly perceveid in the structural reforms (contractualization, decentralization, increased autonomy...) inferred notably by the construction of the European Higher Education and Research Area. Higher education is structured in a hierarchy with dominating disciplines (mathematics, physique, chemistry...) at the center and, dominated disciplines (Social sciences an…
