The present paper presents the results of experimental analyses carried out to study the behaviour of slotted bolted connections (SBC) as friction steel dampers. The devices consist of bolted joints with slotted holes, which can be used in both steel and RC framed structures or, alternatively, into beam-column and column-foundation joints. The most suitable configurations to increase friction are investigated utilizing steel S355J0 plates and class 10.9HV high-strength bolts, under controlled pre-load and considering different types of surface treatment. Despite recent advances in understanding the cancer signaling pathways and in developing new therapeutic strategies, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) shows grim prognosis and high incidence of recurrence. Insufficient dis- ruption of oncogenic signaling and drug resistance are the most common causes of tumor recurrence. Drug resistance, in- trinsic or acquired, represents a main obstacle in NSCLC therapeutics by limiting the efficacy both of conventional che- motherapeutic compounds and new targeted agents. Il lavoro si pone come obiettivo la ricostruzione congetturale del progetto dell’Eden Teatro Biondo (1912) a Palermo di Ernesto Basile (Palermo 1857–1932) a partire dai disegni originari. L’edifico propone una tipologia che fonde cinematografo (al piano terra) e teatro (al piano superiore). Pensato su un fronte di Piazza Verdi, non sarà realizzato per i costi ritenuti troppo elevati dai committenti. Le scansioni dei disegni originari (conservati presso il Fondo Basile del Dipartimento di Architettura dell’Università di Palermo) hanno consentito la vettorializzazione piana utilizzata per l’analisi e per la modellazione 3D. Questo lavoro esamina l’uso di un dispositivo strutturale in legno storico utilizzato come rinforzo della muratura per i sistemi di prevenzione sismica nell'area mediterranea. Tale tecnologia viene realizzata mediante un telaio tridimensionale tridimensionale di legno incorporato nella muratura di pietra per legare insieme le varie parti strutturali e contribuire alla resistenza sismica complessiva.
