Powstania zapamiętane. Opowieści wspomnieniowe na temat powstań śląskich funkcjonujące w obiegu społecznym

Przedmiotem artykułu jest sposób funkcjonowania w obiegu społecznym pamięci o powstaniach śląskich. Ważną rolę pełnią tu opowieści byłych powstańców, które ze względu na dystans czasowy podlegają folkloryzacji i fabularyzacji (do narracji włączane są wydarzenia późniejsze, związane na przykład z przeżyciami z czasów II wojny światowej). Wspomnienia drukowane są w antologiach, zrealizowano również projekt Filmowa encyklopedia powstań śląskich, gdzie o życiu powstańców opowiadają ich potomkowie. Wiedza o powstaniach popularyzowana jest także przez organizowanie konkursów dla młodzieży, przedstawianie rekonstrukcji historycznych, spotkania i wystawy. In un epistola del 1426 indirizzata ad Antonio Panormita, Poggio Bracciolini commenta la lettura dell’Hermphroditus e ne loda la «iucunditatem carminis, iocos et sales» in essa contenuti, elogiando l’amico per aver trattato argomenti tanto impudichi in maniera così elegante e composta; e aggiunge: «ita multa exprimi turpiuscula, ut non enarrari sed agi videantur, neque ficta a te iocandi causa, ut exstimo, sed acta extimari possint». This paper describes an interactive storytelling system, accessible through the SoftBank robotic platforms NAO and Pepper. The main contribution consists of the interpretation of the story characters by humanoid robots, obtained through the definition of appropriate cognitive models, relying on the ACT-R cognitive architecture. The reasoning processes leading to the story evolution are based on the represented knowledge and the suggestions of the listener in critical points of the story. In this squib, I discuss the issue of showing meaning in language. I consider showing to form a continuum with telling (traditional language use with lexico-grammatical units and processes) and define showing in its purest form as a way of signaling meaning through depiction. For this purpose, showing makes use of relatively gradient and non-conventional means which are not typically considered to belong to language proper. I situate showing together with telling in ontology in which language is conceived as being simultaneously a physical, cognitive and social activity on a par with other such types of activities. The dominant understanding of trauma as an epistemological crisis that can be mimetically passed on to readers has in the twenty-first century been criticized for its apolitical and ahistorical orientations. As a way to assess this criticism, this article examines trauma and storytelling in Betty Louise Bell’s Faces in the Moon (1994), a novel which places the trauma of sexual violence in a broader context of settler colonialism. Creating digital stories provides with important opportunities to practice and master a number of specific 21st-century skills, content, and technology standards.
